What Your Grapevine Display Includes

Six parts, one company, and no attic full of tangled strands.

01

Designed around your facade

A Queen Anne porch near Main Street and a 1990s brick two-story by the lake need different plans, so we start from photos and measurements of your house.

04

Fixes during the season

Call the office if a run goes dark, and a crew returns to repair it as part of your service.

02

Leased, cut-to-length LED

Our commercial-grade strands are cut to each eave and gable, then leased for the season, which means no reels to buy and nothing to store.

05

Takedown after the holidays

We come back after New Year's, usually early in January, to remove the display and every clip that held it.

03

Yard and tree accents

Front trees, porch railings, hedges and walkways can be lit to tie the house to the street, especially on corner lots that are seen from two sides.

06

Off-site storage

Your strands are tagged with your address and stored with us, ready to go back up on the same roofline next season.

From Victorian Porches to Lakeside Two-Stories

Grapevine's housing covers more than a century. Around Main Street and College Street, protected historic districts hold houses like an 1899 Queen Anne Victorian and a landmarked 1940 ranch on a half-acre lot, both a short walk from the shops. The city's design guidelines for these districts address porches, roofs, trim and siding, which is one reason we never fasten anything into historic woodwork. Farther out, subdivisions from the 1980s and 1990s fill in with ranches and two-stories, such as Countryside Estates, built out around 1994 with about 412 homes, and Western Oaks, finished around 1999.

Each type has a natural focal point. Victorian and early 1900s homes have wraparound or deep porches, turned posts and steep gables, so garland on the rails and a warm line on the porch eave let the architecture show. Ranch homes have long, low eaves that look neat with one continuous run. Two-story brick homes near the lake usually have stacked front gables and a garage wing, which we light as one balanced front elevation.

Five Steps to a Lit Grapevine Home

01

Schedule the visit

Call or request a quote, and we set a time to see the house, measure and talk through what you want lit.

02

See the design

We send a written proposal. You can scale it up or down, change colors or add porch and tree pieces.

03

Crew installs

Most homes are done the same day. Historic houses get extra care around fragile gutters and trim.

04

Enjoy December

Timers run the display nightly. If a section fails, call us on a weekday and we send someone to fix it.

05

We take it away

After the holidays, the crew removes it all, labels it and stores it until next season.

Grapevine Neighborhoods We Light

Grapevine packs historic streets, lake-area subdivisions and newer patio-home communities into one small city. Homeowners just across the line can read our pages on Christmas lights for Southlake houses and Colleyville residential lighting.

Historic districts near Main Street

Streets such as Smith and College hold Victorian, early 1900s and mid-century homes inside protected districts. Porch-focused designs with warm white and greenery respect the architecture and look right next to the lit downtown.

Hidden Lakes

An established neighborhood across the street from Lakeside that backs to a greenbelt with a walking and running path. Homes that face or back to the trail are seen by evening walkers, so side and rear rooflines can be worth adding.

Stone Bridge Oaks

Patio homes begun in 2010, roughly 2,000 to 4,000 square feet, with a clubhouse and association-provided yard care. Compact fronts look finished with an entry outline, a wreath and a lit tree, and we coordinate with the association so landscaping crews are not disrupted. For year-round accent lighting, see our Grapevine landscape lighting.

Lakeside Estates

Built in phases from 1999 to 2002 on roughly quarter-acre lots near Grapevine Lake and Meadowmere Park, with mature trees and an active HOA. Two-story fronts and big trees give a full outline plus one or two trunk wraps plenty of presence.

Countryside Estates

About 412 homes built out by 1994, with a lake, park and jogging path. Homes of this era light well with a clean front outline and lit shrubs along the beds, and the 30-year-old trees can carry trunk wraps.

Living Inside the Christmas Capital

Grapevine's Christmas Capital of Texas season runs more than 1,400 events over about 40 days, and Main Street merchants even compete in an annual decorating contest. Neighborhood streets catch the same spirit, and residents who live near downtown see holiday traffic on many evenings. A clean, warm display holds up well next to the lit storefronts, while homes farther out have more freedom with color. Grapevine also borders Lake Grapevine, so lots in neighborhoods like Lakeside Estates, near Meadowmere Park, can see stronger wind off the open water; every run is clipped and tested before the crew leaves.

Many Grapevine subdivisions have active HOAs. Lakeside Estates' association organizes its own holiday events, and patio-home communities such as Stone Bridge Oaks handle yard care and exterior upkeep for owners, which can affect where lights may go. We check the rules before designing. Boards planning entrance lighting can see our HOA Christmas lighting for Grapevine, and our notes on this year's lighting trends help with color choices.

  • Displays planned for busy downtown evenings

  • Runs clipped and tested for lake wind

  • HOA and maintenance-association rules reviewed

  • Warm white suits historic streets

  • Color schemes welcome on suburban lots

What Goes Into a Grapevine Quote

We measure first and quote second. These factors make the difference.

How much roofline

A porch eave on a historic cottage is a short run. A two-story home with several gables and a garage wing needs much more.

Color and style

Warm white, multicolor or a mix, plus large or small bulbs, all change what we cut and how it is laid out.

Pitch and porch height

Steep Victorian roofs and second-story gables take more time and safety gear than single-story ranch eaves.

Porch and entry pieces

Garland on porch rails, wreaths and lit walkway markers are listed separately so you can choose which to include.

Trees on the lot

Mature trees near the lake and in older neighborhoods can take many strands each. Small ornamentals take few.

Grapevine Homeowner Questions

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Do you install Christmas lights on homes in Grapevine?

–

Yes. We light houses throughout Grapevine's 76051 ZIP code, from the historic streets near Main Street to Lakeside Estates, Hidden Lakes and Countryside Estates. Shops, hotels and HOA entrances are covered on our Grapevine Christmas lighting page.

Do I need to buy lights, and what about permanent systems?

–

No purchase is needed for seasonal service, because the lights are leased and we take them back after the holidays. If you would like lights that stay up year-round on a track, read about our permanent lighting in Grapevine. Owners of historic homes often choose seasonal lights to keep the facade unchanged.

When is the right time to book in Grapevine?

–

Early fall is ideal, and late summer is even better. Grapevine's holiday season starts in November, installations typically start early that month, and dates fill from the first requests forward.

When do the lights come down after Christmas?

–

We remove them after the holidays, usually in early January, then box, label and store them. If your HOA has a takedown date, tell us and we schedule to meet it.

Will my Grapevine HOA allow a display?

–

Most associations allow holiday lighting but may set dates or placement rules, and maintenance-provided communities may limit work in landscaped areas. Send us your guidelines, and the design and dates will match them before installation. Our guide to residential Christmas lights walks through how the service works.

Can lights go on a historic house without harming it?

–

Yes. We use clips that grip gutters, shingle edges and porch rails and never nail or staple into the roof, trim or siding. If a gutter or board looks fragile, the crew leaves it out of the design rather than risk damage.

What about outlets and timers?

–

We plug into your exterior outlets and add timers so the display runs on its own each evening. Older homes sometimes have few outdoor outlets, so we plan runs around what is available and tell you if any outlet needs repair.

Will downtown holiday crowds affect my install?

–

If you live close to Main Street, evening events can tighten parking on nearby streets. We schedule installs and service visits during the day, so holiday traffic rarely affects the work.
