Allen, TX Christmas Light Installation

Carruthers Decorative Lighting, the Dallas-area Christmas Decor franchise, installs Christmas lights on Allen homes and on Allen's HOA entrances, shopping centers and business properties. We design each display, supply and install leased LED lighting, service it through the season, then remove and store it. Allen is one of only four cities where we take residential work.

US 75 divides Allen, and the two sides light differently. Newer master-planned communities fill much of the west side, while the east side holds a mix of established neighborhoods. Most of the city's subdivisions were developed between the early 1990s and the late 2010s, and traditional brick two-story homes are the prevailing style. Older ranch-style homes, Craftsman designs, Tudor-influenced houses and Mediterranean estates appear as well.

Golf, creeks and trees set the tone in Allen's most recognized communities. Twin Creeks wraps around an 18-hole Arnold Palmer-designed course on rolling ground and includes gated sections. Watters Crossing, where homes date from the 1990s onward, is known for mature landscaping and its many crape myrtles. Homes that back to fairways, greenbelts or open space are seen from more than one direction, so we look at the rear and side views as well as the street view when we design. Homeowner associations are common across Allen, and we plan every display with the neighborhood's guidelines in mind.

Where We Install in Allen and How Each Home Is Designed

We install Christmas lights on homes on both sides of US 75. The Twin Creeks area includes neighborhoods such as Twin Creeks, Legends at Twin Creeks, Village at Twin Creeks and Twin Creeks Watters. Around Watters Creek and the Montgomery Farm land we serve Watters Crossing, Reserve at Watters, Montgomery Farm Estates, Montgomery Ridge, Park at Montgomery Farm and Angel Field East. Elsewhere in Allen we serve StarCreek, Cumberland Crossing, Waterford Parks, Waterford Crossing, Lost Creek Ranch, Shaddock Park and Stacy Ridge Estates. The city has two ZIP codes, 75002 and 75013, and we take residential work in both.

The two-story brick traditional is the most common house style in Allen. These homes usually have a main ridge, one or two front gables and a covered entry. The cleanest design outlines the eaves and gables facing the street and stops there, with the entry framed in garland or lit greenery. Single-story ranch homes ask for the opposite approach: one continuous eave line, with shrubs and a tree or two for height. On Mediterranean and Tudor-influenced homes, we follow the architecture and avoid forcing straight lines where the house has arches and steep peaks. Columns and porch rails can be wrapped where the entry needs more presence.

Trees and views finish the picture. Crape myrtles, common in Watters Crossing, can be trunk-wrapped once their leaves drop, and larger shade trees can take trunk and canopy lighting. We measure trees during the design visit so the lighting is cut to fit. If your home backs to a golf course, a greenbelt or a trail, ask us about lighting the rear roofline or patio as well. Neighbors and passersby see that side too.

HOA guidelines are part of the design conversation. Allen associations write their own rules, and those rules are not the same from Twin Creeks to StarCreek to Waterford Parks. Timing is the most common subject. Some Texas HOAs open the display window about 30 days before Christmas and close it in mid-January, and some speak to placement. Share your community's guidelines, or simply its name, and we check the plan and dates against them before installation.

You lease the display, and we do the rest. The service includes design, commercial-grade LED lighting custom-cut to your house, installation with non-damaging clips, in-season maintenance, takedown and storage. Wreaths, garlands, bows, pre-lit trees and oversized ornaments are available for porches and entries. There is nothing to buy, untangle or keep in the attic. Permanent lighting, landscape lighting, bistro lighting and event lighting are also available if you want lighting beyond the holidays.

Installation takes a few hours, and the season is covered after that. Most homes are finished in two to four hours. You can be at work if outlets and gates are accessible. Our installers are trained in ladder and roof safety, and the company carries liability insurance and workers' compensation. If lights go out, call us and maintenance is free, usually within 24 to 48 hours. Takedown starts in early January, and your lighting is stored in a climate-controlled facility.

Call in early fall if you want to be lit before Allen's tree lighting. The city lights its Christmas tree at the Holly Jolly Celebration in early December. A September or October call leaves time for the design visit and any HOA check, with more install dates to choose from. Quotes are free at 972-620-9560 or through the online quote form.

Allen businesses, HOAs and dealerships can use the same service. We light retail and mixed-use properties in districts such as Watters Creek, The Village at Allen and the Allen Premium Outlets area, along with offices and car dealerships along the US 75 corridor. Commercial programs are leased and fully maintained, with design, installation, service, removal and storage included and work scheduled around business hours. HOA boards can add entrances and common areas under the same program.

Allen Christmas Lighting FAQs

Do you install Christmas lights on both sides of US 75 in Allen?

Yes. Carruthers Decorative Lighting installs residential Christmas lighting throughout Allen, east and west of US 75, in both city ZIP codes, 75002 and 75013. That includes the newer master-planned communities on the west side and the established neighborhoods on the east side. Call 972-620-9560 with your address if you want to confirm service.

Can you light the trees at a home in Twin Creeks or Watters Crossing, not just the roof?

Yes. We serve homes in neighborhoods such as Twin Creeks and Watters Crossing, and tree lighting is part of many designs there. Crape myrtles and shade trees can be trunk-wrapped, and larger trees can take canopy lighting. We measure the trees during the design visit so the lighting is cut to fit and included in your free quote.

When do the lights come down, and where do they go?

Takedown begins in early January. Our crews remove the lighting and decor from your Allen home and return it to our climate-controlled storage facility, where it stays until the next season. Because the lighting is leased, storage is our job. If your HOA sets a removal deadline, tell us when you book so we can plan for it.

Is your company insured to work on my roof?

Yes. Carruthers Decorative Lighting carries liability insurance and workers' compensation, and our installers are trained in ladder and roof safety. Lighting is attached with non-damaging clips. Using an insured installer means you are not the one on a two-story roof in December, and you are not relying on an uninsured crew on your property.

How do I get a quote for my Allen home, and how early should I ask?

Call 972-620-9560 or use the online quote form. Quotes are free. Ask in early fall if you want lights on before the city's tree lighting at the Holly Jolly Celebration in early December. Earlier requests leave time for the design visit and any HOA check, and more installation dates are open.
