Coppell's 1980s and 1990s Two-Story

Coppell was a small farm town until DFW International Airport opened in 1974. The population jumped from 3,826 in 1980 to 35,958 in 2000, and by then nearly all of the city's residential land had been built out. The result is a city of brick two-story homes from the 1980s and 1990s, many with front gables, dormers and tall entries, on streets whose trees now have thirty-plus years of growth.

That housing rewards a selective design. Outlining every hip and valley on a complex two-story roof can look busy, so we usually light the front gables, the main eave and the entry, then add wreaths on upstairs windows. The trees are worth lighting too, especially in neighborhoods near Denton Creek, North Lake and the city's greenbelts.

  • Front gables and main eave lit first

  • Dormers and entries accented, not boxed in

  • Wreaths on second-story windows

  • Mature front trees wrapped

  • Rear rooflines lit on greenbelt lots on request

Coppell Neighborhoods We Light

We light homes throughout Coppell's single ZIP code, 75019, including Shadow Woods Estates, Westhaven and the Village at Cottonwood Creek. Our routes continue into Carrollton's neighborhoods to the east and Grapevine homes to the west.

Riverchase

An established neighborhood in the part of Coppell served by Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, where the association maintains the entry walls and the trees that frame the entrance. Big front-yard trees and a crisp line on the primary eave make a good pairing here.

North Lake Woodlands

Close to North Lake and its greenbelts, with mature trees and shaded streets. Lighting those trees from trunk to upper limbs, with only a modest roofline, keeps the yard and the house in proportion.

Copperstone, Gibbs Station and Pecan Hollow

Three compact subdivisions, some with a neighborhood pool or amenity building of their own. Homes here light well with front gables, garage edges and a wrapped front tree, planned around HOA guidelines.

Coppell Greens

Set in the Denton County portion of the city and served by Lewisville ISD, Coppell Greens has established two-story homes and HOA-kept entries. Gables and the front door carry most designs here.

Waterside Estates

A neighborhood near the water and greenbelts where many homes back to open space. Lots like these can be lit from the rear as well as the street.

Associations, Greenbelts and Neighborhood Rules

Many Coppell subdivisions have homeowners associations, and some set rules on how long holiday displays can stay up or what can attach to a house. Pass along your HOA's guidelines and the Coppell design and its install and takedown dates will follow them. The Coppell HOA holiday lighting service can also light a neighborhood's entry walls, medians and amenity areas.

Coppell also has a lot of homes that back onto open space. Neighborhoods near North Lake and the Denton Creek greenbelts, such as North Lake Woodlands and Waterside Estates, have some of the city's most mature trees, and people on the trails see the rear of the house as clearly as the street does. We can add a backyard tree or the rear roofline to the plan, and Coppell landscape lighting can keep those trees lit year-round.

  • HOA guidelines reviewed before the design

  • Display and removal dates set to your rules

  • Greenbelt trees lit for views from the trail

  • Cords kept off shared common areas

  • Entrances available for board approval

Coppell Quote Factors

Measurements at your home set the quote. These are the main variables.

Roofline chosen

Front-only designs on a two-story home use far less lighting than outlining every side.

Color and bulb style

Your choice of warm white, multicolor or a combination changes the materials list.

Two stories and steep pitch

Second-story gables and steep roofs need more safety equipment and time than a single-story eave.

Entry and window pieces

Wreaths on upstairs windows, door garland and pathway lights are each optional.

Mature trees

Older trees near greenbelts can be large, and canopy wraps take more product and labor than trunk wraps.

Coppell Christmas Lighting Questions

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Do you install Christmas lights on homes in Coppell?

–

Yes, anywhere in Coppell's ZIP code, 75019, including the Denton County section around Coppell Greens. For Old Town storefronts and business parks, see our Coppell Christmas lighting page.

Do I purchase the lights?

–

No. We lease them to you for the season and handle maintenance, removal and storage. For a year-round alternative, look at permanent holiday lighting near Coppell, mounted once and used for every holiday.

How early should I schedule?

–

Late summer to early fall works well. Installs typically begin in early November, and HOA communities with display-date rules should book early so we can work within their window.

When are the lights taken down?

–

Coppell takedowns run in early January, or sooner if your HOA sets an earlier deadline. The display then goes into storage for next season.

Do Coppell HOAs allow holiday lights?

–

Holiday lighting is common in Coppell neighborhoods, but associations may set rules on dates, placement or colors. Send us your guidelines and we will design within them.

Could installation damage my roof?

–

No nails or staples go into shingles. We use clips on gutters, shingle edges and ridges, and remove them all when the lights come down.

What do I need for power?

–

Working outdoor outlets, which we confirm at the design visit. Timers come from us, and once set, the lights keep a nightly schedule without any help from you.

My Coppell backyard faces a greenbelt. Is the rear worth lighting?

–

Often, yes. Many Coppell homes back onto greenbelts, parks or open space, and neighbors on the trail see the rear roofline. We can add the back elevation or a backyard tree to the plan.
