String Light Installation Options in Grapevine
Choose the spaces you want lit and we handle layout and hardware.
01
Office and Campus Plazas
Corporate courtyards and outdoor break areas get a warm, finished look after hours. Installs are scheduled before or after business hours so staff and visitors are not disrupted.
04
Gazebos and Pavilions
Strands can outline the roof edge, drape inside the open structure or link the gazebo to the house with a lit span. We fasten to framing without marring finished wood.
02
Church and School Courtyards
Courtyards and gathering areas at churches and schools can host evening events in warm, even light. Work is planned around foot traffic and scheduled when the grounds are quiet.
05
Breweries and Beer Gardens
Long communal tables and open lawns suit parallel runs or a wide canopy. Commercial-grade cable and secure terminations let the strands handle crowds, yard games and weekend events.
03
Trees and Lawn Spans
When the yard has mature trees but no nearby walls, we anchor to trunks with tree-safe straps or set posts, so a run can cross the lawn to a pergola, swing set or fire pit.
06
Outdoor Kitchens
Runs over an outdoor kitchen or grilling island add useful task light along with the glow. Put them on a dimmer and the same lights soften once dinner reaches the table.

Warm Light Without the Glare
Good patio lighting feels warm and comfortable, not bright like a parking lot. We favor warm-white LED bulbs and suggest dimmers so you can set the level. Bulb height and spacing also change how light lands on faces and tables.
In denser Grapevine neighborhoods, we place runs to limit spill toward neighboring windows. For businesses, we balance ambiance with enough light for menus, steps, curbs and safe walking after dark.
Warm-white LEDs, not cool blue tones
Dimmers to set the right level

Grapevine's Patio Destinations
Grapevine's historic Main Street, wineries and resort hotels make it one of the busiest evening destinations in North Texas. Homes near Grapevine Lake and in established neighborhoods want the same warm glow at home.
Historic Main Street
Restaurants and tasting rooms along Main Street rely on patios and back courtyards. Edison-style bulbs fit the historic setting, and we choose anchors that hold tension without damaging older masonry or storefronts. Timers keep the patio lit from happy hour through late service without anyone touching a switch.
Grapevine Lake Area
Homes and restaurants near Grapevine Lake face open water and wind. Poles and support wire are sized for exposure, and spans are kept shorter on open lots so strands stay tight and quiet. Corrosion-resistant fasteners and guy lines help where yards open onto the lake.
Grapevine Mills Area
Restaurants and businesses near Grapevine Mills serve heavy visitor traffic. Patio lighting defines outdoor seating next to parking and helps those spaces feel like part of the destination. Poles on the parking side carry the canopy where there is no building wall to anchor it, and timers keep it on schedule.
Winery Tasting Rooms
Grapevine's tasting rooms use patios and lawns for evening pours and events. Long runs of warm-white S14 or ST38 bulbs create a relaxed vineyard feel, tensioned for steady use through every season. Poles and guy lines handle open lawns, and dimmers keep the glow low for evening tastings.
Hotel and Resort Terraces
Large hotels and resorts in Grapevine host events on terraces and lawns. Commercial-grade runs and installs scheduled around busy event calendars keep those spaces guest-ready throughout the year. Certificates of insurance are available for hotel management before any work begins.
Permanent or Seasonal Strands?
Most bistro lighting in Grapevine stays up year-round. A permanent install uses fixed anchors, support wire and outdoor-rated components, so there is nothing to take down in fall or rehang in spring.
Seasonal setups make sense for short-term events, but repeated hanging wears out strands and anchors. If you want lights only part of the year, we can plan anchors that stay in place so the strands themselves go up and come down quickly.
Permanent: fixed anchors, no rehanging
Permanent: outdoor-rated for daily use
Seasonal: suited to short-term needs
Hybrid: fixed anchors with removable strands

Pricing a Bistro Light Install
We price from the site, not a flat rate, and these factors explain why.
Span Length
Longer spans need stronger support wire, more tension and sometimes an intermediate pole. A compact courtyard takes less material and labor than a lawn stretching out to a distant tree line.
Controls
A plain switch costs less than dimmers, timers, smart plugs or zoned controls. Those upgrades add cost upfront but make the lights easier to use every single night.
Anchor Points
Walls, beams and sturdy trees are ready-made anchors. Where they are missing, poles, footings or weighted planters add material and labor, so the number of anchors needed shapes the project.
Site Conditions
Slopes, tight side yards, landscape beds and pool equipment can complicate pole placement and ladder setup, which adds time compared with an open, level patio.
Bulb Style
S14, ST38 and G40 bulbs differ in cost, and shatter-resistant or filament-style LEDs vary too. Closer bulb spacing also means more bulbs on every foot of strand.

Grapevine Bistro Lighting FAQ
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
How long do LED bistro bulbs last?
–
LED bistro bulbs last many times longer than old incandescent bulbs and run much cooler, which makes them the right choice for permanent installs. Actual life depends on hours of use, heat and weather exposure. When one does fail, it unscrews and swaps out without taking the strand down.
Can bistro lights go on a historic Grapevine Main Street building without harming the brick?
–
Yes. We set anchors in mortar joints rather than brick faces where possible, use corrosion-resistant hardware sized for the span, and keep the layout to the fewest anchor points that will do the job. Mortar-joint holes are easier to patch if the lights are ever removed.
Will the strands sag or blow around in North Texas wind?
–
Not when they hang on support wire. We tension a catenary wire across each span and clip the strand to it at short intervals, so the wire carries the load and the strand stays put. Bulbs are clipped so they do not swing, and exposed sites get shorter spans or guy lines.
Can the lights be dimmed or put on a timer?
–
Yes. LED bistro bulbs work with compatible dimmers, and timers or photocells can switch them on at dusk and off at a set hour. Smart plugs and switches add phone control and schedules. We help pick controls that fit how you use the space and place them where they are easy to reach.
How do you hang lights where there is no wall or tree?
–
We set freestanding poles. Depending on the site, that means steel posts in concrete footings, poles mounted to deck framing or weighted planters where digging is not an option. Support wire runs between the poles and the house so the strands stay tight across the open space.
Can permanent string lights be used for events at my property?
–
Yes, and that is one of the strongest reasons to install them. A permanent canopy over a lawn or patio is ready for birthdays, graduations, receptions and community nights without renting and rigging lights. For larger events, we also offer special event lighting.
Do I need a new outdoor outlet?
–
Often not. Many patios already have a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet close enough to power the system. If the nearest outlet is far away, overloaded or not protected, a licensed electrician should add one or install a hard-wired circuit. We plan the layout around wherever power ends up.
Do you work with HOAs and pergola builders?
–
Yes. We can provide a layout drawing and hardware details for an HOA review, and we coordinate with builders so anchors and power are planned while a pergola or patio cover goes up. Planning early usually means cleaner wiring and fewer visible fasteners.
Do you supply the lights or install ones I already bought?
–
We supply the strands, bulbs, support wire and hardware for the systems we install, because store-bought strands are usually too light for tensioned, permanent runs. If you already own strands, mention it during the site visit and we will tell you honestly whether they are likely to hold up.
