Spaces We Light Across Denton
Each layout is planned around how the space is actually used after dark.
01
Church and School Courtyards
Courtyards and gathering areas at churches and schools can host evening events in warm, even light. Work is planned around foot traffic and scheduled when the grounds are quiet.
04
Event Lawns
Lawns used for weddings, parties and community nights can carry permanent pole-mounted runs, so the space is ready for any gathering without renting and rigging lights every time.
02
Service After Install
A burned-out bulb, a loose span after a storm or a strand that needs moving: we handle service calls on our installs so the patio stays ready for guests.
05
HOA Amenity Centers
Clubhouse patios, community pools and pavilions get lighting that matches the neighborhood's standards. Access, timing and design are coordinated with the board or management company.
03
Rooftop Bars
Rooftops have few anchor points and plenty of wind. We set weighted or fixed poles, tension every run on support wire and keep strands clear of railings and mechanical equipment.
06
Outdoor Kitchens
Runs over an outdoor kitchen or grilling island add useful task light along with the glow. Put them on a dimmer and the same lights soften once dinner reaches the table.

Keeping the Lights On
Even a well-built system needs a little care. Bulbs eventually fail, a storm can loosen a span and trees grow into runs. We service the systems we install: replacing bulbs, re-tensioning wire, trimming back conflicts and checking connections.
Many Denton restaurants and venues like a check before the busy spring and fall patio seasons. Homeowners usually call when something looks off. Either way, the office is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

How We Light a Denton Patio
01
Share Photos and Goals
Send a few photos of the patio, pergola or yard and a quick note on the look you want. It helps us arrive with ideas already sketched.
02
Survey Every Surface
Brick, stucco, stone, wood beams and metal pergolas each take different fasteners. We note surfaces so mounts hold without damage.
03
Draft the Layout
You get a simple plan showing each run, the pattern, pole locations and where power comes from, along with bulb shape and spacing.
04
Hang and Tension
Strands are clipped to the support wire at even intervals, leveled and trimmed of slack so every line looks clean from the seating area.
05
Grow the System
Adding a pergola, outdoor kitchen or new seating area later? We extend the system from the existing anchors and power source.
Denton's Patio and Music Scene
Denton has a lively square, two universities and a music scene that spills outdoors much of the year. Patios and courtyards here see heavy use, so durable hardware and quick service matter.
The Denton Square
Restaurants and bars around the historic courthouse square use patios and back courtyards for live music and dining. We anchor runs to older masonry carefully and keep strands high above crowds and performers. Every connection is protected from rain and bumps so the show goes on.
TWU Area
Neighborhoods and businesses near Texas Woman's University include older homes with deep porches and backyards. Short spans from the porch to trees or posts give those spaces a warm, simple look that suits the architecture. Warm-white S14 bulbs on short spans keep the look simple and relaxed.
South Denton Subdivisions
Newer subdivisions in south Denton tend to have covered patios and young trees. Without mature trees to anchor to, poles and wall mounts carry the spans, sized for open, windy yards. Taller poles near the fence line lift the canopy above play areas and grills.
Fry Street and UNT
Bars, cafés and apartment communities near the University of North Texas and Fry Street want a relaxed evening glow that holds up to student crowds. Commercial-grade cable and secure terminations keep every run in place. Timers keep the lights on schedule so property staff never have to think about them.
Rayzor Ranch
The Rayzor Ranch area on the west side has retail and dining with patio seating. Pole-supported canopies define outdoor seating beside parking and make the space feel separate from the lot. Timers switch the canopy on at dusk so the patio is ready for the dinner crowd.
Residential vs. Commercial Installs
A backyard canopy and a restaurant patio use similar parts but different priorities. At home, the focus is mood, sight lines and a clean look from the kitchen window. On a commercial patio, the system also has to handle nightly use, crowds, umbrellas and staff switching it on and off.
For Denton businesses we plan heavier cable, more anchor points, protected connections and a service plan, and we provide certificates of insurance on request.
Homes: mood, sight lines and a clean look
Business: uptime through every nightly service
Business: crowd clearance and secure connections
Both: tensioned support wire and LED bulbs

Pricing a Bistro Light Install
We price from the site, not a flat rate, and these factors explain why.
Number of Runs
A single perimeter outline uses far fewer strands, clips and anchors than a dense zig-zag canopy. The pattern you choose sets most of the material list for the job.
Mounting Surfaces
Brick, stone, stucco, wood and metal each need different hardware. Hard-to-drill surfaces and historic materials take more time, more care and sometimes specialty anchors to mount correctly.
Poles and Footings
Steel posts in concrete, deck-mounted poles and weighted planters each carry different labor and material. Pole height and finish choices change the scope as well.
Controls
A plain switch costs less than dimmers, timers, smart plugs or zoned controls. Those upgrades add cost upfront but make the lights easier to use every single night.
Bulb Style
S14, ST38 and G40 bulbs differ in cost, and shatter-resistant or filament-style LEDs vary too. Closer bulb spacing also means more bulbs on every foot of strand.

Denton Bistro Lighting FAQ
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Can a business swap patio lights for holiday lighting?
–
Yes. Because we are also a Christmas Decor franchise, commercial properties can use the same anchors and power for holiday lighting during the season. We install the holiday design, maintain it, then remove and store it after the holidays while the bistro strands carry on.
Can string lights stay up all year?
–
Yes, when the system is built for it. Permanent installs use outdoor-rated strands, fixed anchors and support wire, so there is nothing to take down in the fall or rehang in the spring. Most of our bistro lighting stays up year-round and is serviced as needed.
Can string lights on a Denton music venue patio handle loud, crowded nights?
–
Yes. We hang strands well above head height, tension them on support wire so vibration and bumps do not loosen them, and route cords away from stages and foot traffic. Bulbs are clipped so they do not swing. If a bulb or span does fail, call us for a service visit.
What drives the cost of a string light install?
–
Span length, the number of runs, how many poles are needed, bulb style, cable grade, power access and mounting surfaces all play a part. Height, access and controls matter too. We price each project from a site visit rather than a flat rate, so the quote reflects your actual space.
What about hail and summer storms?
–
Shatter-resistant LED bulbs hold up far better than glass in small hail, and tensioned support wire keeps spans from whipping in strong gusts. After a major storm, it is worth a quick look at anchors and spans. If anything has shifted on a system we installed, call us for a service visit.
Will you mount to stucco, brick or stone without damage?
–
Yes. Each surface gets the right fastener. Brick and stone anchors usually go in mortar joints, stucco anchors reach solid backing without cracking the finish, and metal pergolas get clamps instead of holes where possible. We keep the number of anchor points to the minimum the layout needs.
Do you light pergolas, gazebos and covered patios?
–
Yes, and they are some of the easiest spaces to light well. Strands can follow beams, cross the top in a lattice or trace the perimeter of a solid cover. We use clips sized for the framing and route cords inside the structure for a clean finish.
Will string lights bother my neighbors?
–
Usually not. Warm-white bulbs on a dimmer give a soft glow rather than a bright floodlight, and we place runs to limit spill toward neighboring windows. In tighter neighborhoods, a perimeter layout or lower brightness setting can keep the light focused on your own space.
Do LED bistro lights get hot?
–
LED bulbs run far cooler than incandescent bulbs, which is safer around fabric, umbrellas and pergola wood and more comfortable for guests on summer nights. They also use much less power, so more strands can run from a single circuit.
