QUICK ANSWER

Denton landscape lighting is a custom low-voltage LED system: tree uplighting, path and porch light, facade washes, patio lighting and security light. Businesses get sign, entry and walkway lighting. We walk the property, draw the layout, install with shallow cable and handle service afterward. Cost depends on fixture count, materials and wire distance.

Lighting Denton Properties

These are the pieces most Denton projects draw from.

01

Canopy and Moonlighting

Soft downlights mounted high in mature trees let light filter through the leaves onto lawn and walks below. It reads like moonlight and keeps big yards from going black at night.

04

Pool Decks and Kitchens

Task light over the grill, a gentle glow around the pool coping and accents on nearby plantings make the backyard usable at night without turning it into a parking lot.

02

Porches and Historic Fronts

Denton's older homes often have deep porches, wood siding and decorative trim. Soft uplight on columns, warm washes on siding and a lit walk to the steps highlight that craftsmanship at night.

05

Rental and Student Properties

Owners of rental homes near the universities use path, entry and side-yard lighting to make properties safer for tenants and easier to rent, with simple timers that need no attention.

03

Path and Walkway Lights

Low path fixtures mark the route from driveway to front door, along garden beds and out to the back gate. Guests see every step and edge without bright spots in their eyes.

06

Clean Installation

Low-voltage cable runs a few inches under turf and mulch, set with care around roots, irrigation and beds. Our crews leave lawns and planting areas the way they found them.

Historic Character, Lit Gently

Historic homes look right only with light that respects them. Bright, cool fixtures make old wood and brick look flat, and visible hardware distracts from the details.

We use warm white, low-intensity fixtures tucked into beds and behind shrubs. Columns, porch ceilings, gables and old trees get just enough light to stand out, while the overall glow stays soft. It is the kind of lighting that neighbors notice without being able to say why.

  • Warm white for wood and old brick

  • Fixtures hidden in beds and shrubs

  • Accents on columns, gables and porches

  • Soft overall glow, no hot spots

Around Denton

Denton covers a lot of ground, from the courthouse square to communities on the edge of town. Here are areas where our designs tend to focus.

Denton Square

Shops, restaurants and offices around the courthouse on the Square draw crowds at night. Lit entries, planters and trees help businesses stand out and make the walk from parking feel welcoming without competing with the historic architecture. Schedules can run later on weekend nights when the Square is busiest.

UNT and TWU Neighborhoods

Homes near the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University see a lot of evening foot traffic. Path lights, lit entries and side-yard security lighting make these properties safer and more comfortable after dark. Photocells keep the lights on every night without tenants having to manage anything.

Robson Ranch

Homes in this active-adult community value safe walks and low-maintenance systems. Step lights, path lights and a lit entry make evening walks easy, and simple timers keep everything running on schedule. Warm, low fixtures also keep glare off neighbors on the community's closely spaced lots.

Oak-Hickory Historic District

Victorian and Craftsman homes in this historic district have porches, trim and mature trees worth showing off. Warm, low accents and discreet fixtures keep the focus on the architecture and respect neighbors on close lots. Fixtures are staked in the ground, so nothing attaches to original siding or trim.

Rayzor Ranch Area

Newer homes and retail around Rayzor Ranch on the west side of town have younger landscapes. Facade, entry and path lighting carry these designs now, with capacity planned for trees as they mature. Spare transformer capacity means uplights can be added later without rewiring the yard.

Lighting for Denton Businesses

From restaurants on the Square to offices and retail along the highways, Denton businesses need to be seen and to feel safe at night.

We light signs, entries, planters, trees and walkways, then set schedules that match business hours. Fixtures are placed out of the way of maintenance crews and foot traffic. Our landscape lighting line, NTD, or Nite Time Decor, covers commercial grounds as well as homes, and certificates of insurance are available.

  • Signs and storefront entries

  • Planters and street trees

  • Walkways and parking edges

  • Schedules matched to your hours

Where the Budget Goes

Every proposal is built from the property, and these factors move it most.

How much you light

Lighting only the street-facing view keeps a project tight. Adding the backyard, patio, side gates and every specimen tree grows the fixture list, the wire and the crew time together.

One phase or several

Many owners light the front first and add the backyard or patio later. Planning the transformer and wire for the full vision up front makes later phases simpler.

Transformer and power

Larger systems need a bigger transformer, or more than one, to keep voltage steady to the far fixtures. The location of usable outdoor power also changes how the system is laid out.

Brass, copper or aluminum

Heavier metal fixtures stand up to mowers, heat and weather better and age into a natural patina. Painted aluminum is lighter and less costly. Material choice shows up directly in the proposal.

Crossing paving and stone

Turf and planting beds are quick to work in. Getting under concrete walks, flagstone patios or brick edging, or setting lights into walls and steps, adds labor that we flag early.

Denton Landscape Lighting FAQ

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Can you light a historic home without damaging it?

–

Yes. Most fixtures are staked in beds or mounted on the ground, not attached to the house. Where a mount is needed, we use minimal, reversible methods. Low-voltage cable runs shallow in the yard, so there is no work inside the home or on original materials.

Do you light rental properties near the universities?

–

Yes. Path lights, entry lighting and side-yard fixtures make rental homes safer for tenants and more appealing to prospective renters. We keep systems simple, with photocells or timers that run at dusk without anyone having to remember to switch them on.

Do you serve Robson Ranch and other Denton communities?

–

Yes. We design and install landscape lighting across Denton, including Robson Ranch, Rayzor Ranch, the historic districts and country properties outside town. Each design follows the community's guidelines and the way you use the property at night. We also service what we install.

How soon can the lights be on?

–

After the site visit and your approval of the layout, we book an install date. Typical homes take a day or two of crew time, and we finish by aiming fixtures after dark. Spring and early fall fill up quickly, so planning ahead keeps your project on the calendar you want.

Should I choose LED fixtures?

–

For almost every project, yes. LED fixtures use a fraction of the power of old halogen lamps, run cooler, last far longer and offer warm white tones that look natural on stone and plants. Fewer lamp changes also means less upkeep over the life of the system.

Are LED landscape lights energy efficient?

–

Very. Each LED fixture uses a few watts, a small share of what halogen used, and modern transformers waste little power. Pair that with a dusk-to-late schedule and the system runs every night for a modest amount of electricity, even on larger properties.

Does landscape lighting help with security?

–

It helps. Lit walkways, side yards, gates and entries remove the dark spots people avoid being seen in, and they make the property easier to watch from inside or on a camera. Layered landscape light does this without the harsh glare of a single floodlight.

My old landscape lights barely work. Can you help?

–

Usually. Dim or dead fixtures often come down to a failing transformer, corroded connections, buried lenses or voltage drop on long runs. We test the system, explain what we find and recommend a repair, an LED upgrade or a new layout, depending on its condition.

Can you also handle holiday lighting for our property?

–

For commercial properties and HOAs in Denton, yes. Our Christmas Decor team designs, installs, maintains, removes and stores holiday lighting and decor for businesses and associations. Planning landscape and holiday lighting together means one team already knows the trees, power and layout of the property.
