What We Light in Lake Dallas
Pick one effect or combine several; NTD (Nite Time Decor) is the name our landscape lighting work goes by.
01
Patios and outdoor living
Deck, pergola and patio lighting makes the back yard usable after sunset. Downlights, step lights and hardscape fixtures keep the seating area comfortable, not glaring.
04
Fountains and pools
Light on moving water reads beautifully after dark. We place sealed fixtures to catch the spray or ripple, keep cables out of sight and avoid glare on nearby seating.
02
Path and walkway lights
Low path fixtures mark the front walk, side gate and garden steps so guests in Lake Dallas can see where they are going, spaced to pool light rather than line up like a runway.
05
Steps, caps and seat walls
Hardscape lights hide inside or under stonework and wash the face below. They add safety on steps and a finished look to the patio edge.
03
Uplit canopies
A pair of well-placed uplights can turn a mature shade tree into a soft column of light. We aim to show bark texture and branch shape without glare toward the street.
06
Service and adjustments
Plants grow, trees fill in and fixtures get bumped by mowers. We re-aim, clean lenses, replace failed parts and update timers on systems we install.

Timers, Photocells and App Control
A system is only useful if it turns on by itself. Transformers can run on a photocell that senses dusk, a timer that shuts lights off late at night, or both together.
App-based controls add zones and schedules you can change from your phone, such as path lights all night and tree lights until midnight. We set the schedule before the crew leaves your Lake Dallas property and show you how to adjust it when seasons and daylight change.

From First Call to First Night
01
Call or request
Reach our office at 972-620-9560, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, and we set a time to see the Lake Dallas property.
02
Walk the grounds
A designer walks the yard, notes trees, beds, hardscape and power, and asks how you use the space after dark.
03
Size the system
Fixture count and wattage set the transformer size and cable layout, with headroom left so future additions plug into the same system.
04
Installation day
Fixtures go in, cable is buried shallow and connections are sealed. Many home installs wrap up in a day or two.
05
Night check
After sunset we adjust angles, balance brightness from the street and confirm every zone turns on as scheduled.
Living by the Lake in Lake Dallas
Lake Dallas sits on the shore of Lewisville Lake, and a lot of life here happens outdoors. Decks, patios and back yards that face the water or the trees deserve light that extends the evening. Damp ground and storms off the lake also mean fixtures and connections need to be chosen with care.
Lewisville Lake shoreline
Homes near the lake often have sloped yards, mature trees and long views. Step lights on terraced paths and uplit trees at the water side give depth without shining light out across the lake. Warm color temperatures also keep the shoreline feeling natural instead of commercial.
Main Street and I-35E
Businesses along Main Street and the I-35E frontage benefit from lit signs and entry beds, so they are easy to find after dark and look cared for to passing drivers. A schedule on a photocell means lights come on at dusk without anyone on staff remembering to do it.
Near Willow Grove Park
Neighborhoods around Willow Grove Park have plenty of trees and outdoor space. Moonlighting from the canopy makes back yards feel natural at night, and path light keeps footing safe on uneven ground. We route cable around roots and slopes so heavy rain does not expose it later.
Paths to the water
Paths from the house down toward the water need low, steady light. We use step and path fixtures with sealed connections rated for wet locations. Fixtures are set low and aimed toward the path itself, so boaters and neighbors across the cove see a soft glow rather than bright points of light.
HOA Entrances and Common Areas
Community entrances, amenity centers and greenbelt paths are the first thing residents and visitors see. We light stone monuments, entry walls, median trees and walking trails with fixtures sized for public spaces.
Boards get one plan, a clear proposal built on cost factors and an insured crew that works around residents. We can also help individual homeowners in Lake Dallas meet the lighting guidelines in their HOA's design rules, so a home system is approved without back-and-forth.

What Drives Project Price
Scope, materials and site conditions decide cost more than anything else.
Scope of the design
Lighting one tree and a walk is a small job; lighting the whole front, both side yards and the patio is a large one. Scope drives cost more than anything else.
Controls and zones
A single photocell and timer is the simplest setup. Several zones with app scheduling add hardware but let you run different areas on different schedules.
Ground and hardscape
Soft beds are quick to work in. Clay, rock, heavy roots, driveways and stone walls slow the crew down and change the cost of running cable.
System size and distance
More fixtures need more transformer capacity, and features far from the outlet need longer, heavier cable to keep brightness even from the first fixture on the run to the last one.
Brass vs aluminum
Material changes both price and lifespan. We show you both options for the fixtures that take the most abuse, like path lights near the lawn edge.

Lake Dallas Landscape Lighting FAQ
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Is low-voltage lighting safe around kids, pets and sprinklers?
–
Yes. The transformer reduces household power to about 12 volts before it reaches the yard, which is far safer than line-voltage wiring around children, pets, irrigation and garden tools. Connections are sealed for wet ground, and cable sits shallow under mulch or soil where it is out of the way.
Does lakeside moisture cause problems for landscape lighting?
–
It can if the system is not built for it. We use sealed connectors rated for wet ground, choose corrosion-resistant fixtures such as brass for exposed spots and keep the transformer up off the ground and protected. Those choices matter more near Lewisville Lake than in a dry interior yard.
Do fixtures hold up to Texas heat, hail and storms?
–
Quality fixtures do. We use sealed connectors rated for wet ground, set fixtures on sturdy stakes and mounts and leave cable slack so shifting clay soil does not pull wires apart. After a big storm, a quick service visit can straighten or re-aim anything that moved.
Do you have to dig trenches across the yard?
–
Not in the way most people picture. Cable runs in a narrow slit a few inches deep or under existing mulch. Where we need to cross a driveway or walk, we plan the route during the site visit and explain it in the proposal before any work starts.
Can I control the lights from my phone?
–
Yes, with app-based control. You can set schedules, change zones and turn lights on for a party or off for travel from your phone. Simpler systems use a photocell that turns lights on at dusk and a timer that turns them off at an hour you choose.
Can you light steps down a sloped Lake Dallas yard?
–
Yes. Sloped and terraced yards are common near the lake. We place step lights in walls or risers and low path lights along the route, so people can see each change in grade without the light spilling out over the water. Sealed connections hold up to the damp ground.
How do I keep the system looking its sharpest?
–
Trim plants away from fixtures, keep mulch off lenses and let us know when a light goes dark. Once or twice a year, a service visit to clean, re-aim, tighten connections and adjust the timer keeps the design balanced as your landscape grows.
Should I choose LED or halogen fixtures?
–
LED. Modern LED landscape lamps use a fraction of the power halogen used, last many times longer and come in warm color temperatures that look like traditional lighting. Halogen systems also run hot and need frequent bulb changes. We install LED and can convert older halogen fixtures.
Can I see how it will look before you install?
–
Yes. We walk through the plan with you and show where each fixture goes and what it lights. Because placement is everything in landscape lighting, we also adjust aim and brightness after dark on install day, so the final look is tuned in person rather than left to chance.
