What Cities Ask Us For
These are the pieces Denton staff are most likely to want on the list.
01
Light-Pole Swags
Swags along street light poles give a main street rhythm from block to block. We size them to your poles and banner arms, and lighted versions are planned around the power that is actually available.
04
City Hall Rooflines
Roofline lighting outlines city halls, libraries and recreation centers so civic buildings stand out at night. Product is custom-fit to each edge, peak and parapet rather than strung loosely along gutters.
02
Main Street Garland
Garland wrapped on poles, railings and storefront edges carries the season down the street. Commercial garland holds its shape outdoors, and we can add lights or ribbon to match the rest of the plan.
05
Plazas and Pavilions
Plazas, amphitheaters and pavilions host crowds in December. We light them to feel festive while staying safe, with cords routed away from foot traffic and fixtures kept clear of event setups.
03
Trunk and Canopy Wraps
Wrapping trunks and major limbs turns park and lawn trees into landmarks after dark. Spacing and color follow the shape of each tree, and every wrap comes off cleanly once the season ends.
06
Oversized Outdoor Trees
Where no living tree is available to light, an oversized outdoor tree can anchor a plaza or civic lawn. It gives a tree-lighting event a true centerpiece scaled to the space around it.

Built for How Denton Buys
Public projects run on paperwork, and we make that part easy. If your purchasing rules call for a simple quote, we send a written proposal with every site and piece listed. If the project goes out for bid, we answer the RFP as written and return it on time.
Certificates of insurance go straight to the office that needs them. Our crews carry liability and workers' compensation coverage, and we confirm your requirements before anyone works on city property.

The Denton Season, Step by Step
01
Meet on site
We meet parks, facilities or downtown staff at the properties and look at what residents actually see from the street, the sidewalk and parking.
02
Put it in writing
We return a layout and a line-item scope that staff can share with a city manager, council or committee before anything is approved.
03
Set the calendar
Install dates are set backward from your tree lighting, parade or market, and work windows are agreed in advance for busy streets and plazas.
04
Install and test
Our insured crew installs custom-fit LED product and décor, then tests every run so the display is ready well before opening night.
05
Ready for next year
Removal and storage close out the season. Because the product was fit to your sites, next year's install starts from a known layout.
Denton's Holiday Landmarks
Denton's courthouse square is a holiday destination in its own right, and the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival draws crowds downtown. Installs have to respect that calendar.
Courthouse-on-the-Square
The historic courthouse and its lawn trees are the heart of downtown. Tree wraps, garland and lighting that reads from all four sides suit a square people walk around rather than past. Installs are timed around square events, and cord runs are kept off busy walkways and seating.
Quakertown Park
Near the Civic Center and the central library, Quakertown Park offers mature trees and lawn space for trunk wraps and lighted features within easy walking distance of downtown. Placement is planned around paths and events, and power sources are confirmed during the site walk with city staff.
Town Offices
City buildings can get lobby trees, wreaths and garland that match the square's colors, so residents see one design at the service counter and out on the street. Indoor pieces are installed outside public hours and placed to keep counters, doors and hallways clear for visitors.
Streets Around the Square
Shops and restaurants ring the square. Pole swags, wreaths and coordinated storefront décor on the surrounding blocks make the district feel unified after dark and draw people one block further. We work early so storefronts and sidewalks stay open while crews and lifts are on the block.
Emily Fowler Central Library
Library entries and rooflines are a simple way to carry the downtown look a few blocks further. Wreaths, garland and a lobby tree suit the families who visit in December. Interior work is scheduled outside public hours, so staff and patrons are never working around crews.
Trees That Become Landmarks
Lit trees are often what people remember most about a season. In Denton parks and on civic lawns, we wrap trunks and major limbs so trees glow from the road and from the sidewalk.
Our parent company, Carruthers Landscape Management, has cared for commercial landscapes in Dallas since 1978. That background shapes how we handle trees: wraps attached without cutting into bark, product sized to each tree and a full removal in January.

What Shapes a Denton Proposal
There is no flat rate; these factors set the scope and the price.
Power at Each Site
Available power shapes the design. Sites with receptacles on poles and buildings are simpler, while sites without nearby power may call for unlit décor or a different layout.
Phasing Over Seasons
Starting with one priority area and adding sites later spreads the program over several seasons. A proposal can show the first phase and what could follow.
Event Deadlines
A fixed tree-lighting date or a tight work window, such as early mornings only, affects how crews are scheduled and how the install is sequenced across sites.
Traffic and Foot Traffic
Busy sidewalks, school zones and through-streets may need extra crew, cones or off-peak work windows, and that extra care is reflected in the labor estimate.
Style and Product Mix
Warm white lights with simple garland is one look. Color programs, oversized wreaths and layered décor are another. The mix of products you choose changes the proposal.

Common Questions From Denton
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Does the city own the lights and décor?
–
No. Our holiday program uses leased commercial-grade LED product that we custom-fit to your trees, poles and buildings. We install it, service it, remove it and store it. The city gets a finished display each season without buying inventory, testing strings or finding warehouse space for boxes of décor.
What happens if a section goes dark during the season?
–
Call our office and we schedule a service call. In-season maintenance is part of the program, so a dark pole swag, a loose garland run or a tree that loses a section gets checked by our crew instead of being left for city staff to troubleshoot on a ladder.
Will garland and wreaths fit our existing light poles?
–
We look at your poles during the site walk, including height, diameter, banner arms and where power is available. Swags, wreaths and garland are then sized for those poles rather than pulled from a one-size catalog, so the pieces sit properly and stay put through wind and rain.
Do lighted pole decorations need power at the pole?
–
Lighted pieces need a power source nearby. Some streets already have receptacles on their poles and others do not. We note what is available during the site walk and design around it, which can mean unlit wreaths or garland on some poles and lighted pieces only where power exists.
Can we phase the display over several years?
–
Yes. Many cities start with one priority area, such as the main street or the city hall lawn, then add parks, entries or interiors in later seasons. A phased plan lets the display grow with the budget while holding to one design direction from the first year.
When do the decorations come down?
–
Removal usually happens after New Year's, on dates set with your staff. If the city has a January event that relies on the display, we schedule removal after it. The crew takes everything down, cleans up each site and returns the product to our storage.
Do you offer lighting that stays up all year?
–
Yes. Separate from the seasonal program, we install PermaLites 365, an app-controlled permanent lighting system that can change colors for holidays, civic events and observances. It suits some civic buildings, while the leased seasonal program still handles garland, wreaths and trees.
Can the display be ready by Thanksgiving?
–
Often, yes, when the project is booked early. Many towns want displays live by Thanksgiving weekend or their first December event. We set install dates once the scope is approved, and the earliest slots go to the projects that are confirmed first.
What about wind and rain in North Texas?
–
Commercial pieces are built for outdoor seasons, and we fit and fasten them for the conditions on each site. If a storm knocks something loose, a service call brings the crew back to repair it, which is part of the in-season maintenance in every program.
