What a Argyle String Light Project Can Cover

Light one area or tie several together on a single plan.

01

Service After Install

A burned-out bulb, a loose span after a storm or a strand that needs moving: we handle service calls on our installs so the patio stays ready for guests.

04

Fire Pit Circles

A center pole with strands radiating to perimeter posts turns a fire pit into a defined outdoor room. Every run stays high and well clear of the heat and smoke path.

02

Retail Walkways

Shopping center walkways and gathering spots draw more evening traffic when they glow. We plan runs that clear storefront signage, delivery routes and lift access for maintenance crews.

05

Wineries and Tasting Rooms

Tasting patios and vineyard-style lawns suit long runs of warm Edison-style bulbs. The look stays relaxed while every span is secured for steady use through the year.

03

Trees and Lawn Spans

When the yard has mature trees but no nearby walls, we anchor to trunks with tree-safe straps or set posts, so a run can cross the lawn to a pergola, swing set or fire pit.

06

Apartment Amenity Decks

Pool decks, grilling stations and lounges at multifamily properties get commercial-grade runs that stay up year-round and look finished in tours and photos. Service is scheduled around residents.

No Walls in Argyle? We Set Poles

Many patios and lawns have one wall at most. Freestanding poles solve that. Depending on the site, we set steel posts in concrete footings, mount poles to deck framing or use heavy planters where digging is not an option.

Pole height, spacing and guy lines are planned for the span and the wind exposure in Argyle. Finishes can be painted to match fences or railings, so the poles look like part of the design rather than an afterthought.

  • Steel posts set in concrete footings

  • Deck-mounted poles for raised spaces

  • Planter bases where digging is not possible

  • Guy lines on long or exposed spans

  • Painted finishes to match the setting

Planning and Hanging Your Lights

01

Start With a Conversation

We ask how you use the space, how many people gather there and where you sit after dark, so the plan fits real life in Argyle.

02

Note Use and Traffic

We mark seating zones, walkways, doors, umbrellas and service paths so every run stays high, clear and out of the way.

03

Draft the Layout

You get a simple plan showing each run, the pattern, pole locations and where power comes from, along with bulb shape and spacing.

04

Install and Test

We hang every run, connect power, test each bulb and confirm the dimmer or timer works before the crew packs up.

05

Service Calls

If a bulb fails or a span loosens after a storm, call us. We service the systems we install so your Argyle space stays guest-ready.

Open Land and Long Spans in Argyle

Argyle lots tend to be larger than in the inner suburbs, with wide lawns, horse property and outdoor living areas set back from the house. That makes poles, span planning and wind exposure the main design questions here.

Canyon Falls Area

Homes around Canyon Falls often have outdoor living spaces facing trails and open views. We plan runs that keep strands high over the seating and leave sight lines open, with poles placed wherever the house walls run out. Warm-white G40 globes or S14 bulbs on a dimmer keep the glow soft against the dark sky.

Acreage Properties

On larger lots, the patio may sit far from the barn, pool or fire pit. We link those areas with pole-supported spans so guests have a lit path, and plan power so long runs do not overload a single outlet. Separate circuits or zones help where the barn, pool and patio sit far apart.

Barns and Event Lawns

Barn venues and private lawns used for weddings benefit from permanent pole-mounted runs. The space is ready for every booking without renting and rigging new strands, and the layout can frame a dance floor or long dinner tables. Guy lines and sturdy footings keep tall poles steady when an event runs late.

Harvest Area

The Harvest community has farmhouse-style homes, a community farm and shared gathering spaces. Pergolas and back patios there suit Edison-style S14 bulbs on short tensioned spans for a relaxed, farm-table feel. Short spans and a dimmer keep the look simple and relaxed for family dinners outside.

US 377 and FM 407

Restaurants and small businesses along US 377 and FM 407 can turn a side lot or patio into an evening draw. Freestanding poles and commercial-grade cable make that possible without a building wall on every side. Timers switch the lights on at dusk so the patio is ready when customers pull in.

Three Layouts That Work

Most patios fit one of three patterns. A perimeter layout outlines the edge of the space and keeps the center open to the sky. A zig-zag canopy crisscrosses the seating area for a full ceiling of light. A center-pole layout radiates runs from one tall pole out to the edges, like a tent.

We sketch the options for your Argyle space and show how each one will look from where you actually sit.

  • Perimeter: outlines the edges, open center

  • Zig-zag: full canopy over the seating

  • Center pole: tent-style radiating runs

  • Parallel runs: long tables and lawns

Factors That Change the Scope

Use these to decide where to spend and where to keep it simple.

Power Access

If outlets sit close by on the right circuits, setup is simple. A new outlet or hard-wired circuit adds licensed electrician work to the overall project.

Permanent vs Seasonal

Permanent installs use sturdier anchors and wire upfront. Seasonal setups cost less at first, but the labor repeats every time strands go up and come back down.

Height and Access

Second-story eaves, rooftops and tall pergolas may call for lifts, extra ladders or added safety setup, all of which affect labor time on install day.

Tree Anchors

Trees can save the cost of poles, but large trees may need tree-safe straps, higher reach and occasional adjustment as trunks and limbs keep growing.

Controls

A plain switch costs less than dimmers, timers, smart plugs or zoned controls. Those upgrades add cost upfront but make the lights easier to use every single night.

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Will attaching lights hurt my trees?

–

Not when it is done right. We use tree-safe straps that spread the load around the trunk instead of nails, screws or wire wrapped tight. Straps are sized so they can be loosened as the tree grows, and we check them during service visits.

Can you run lights across the yard to a pergola or tree line?

–

Yes. Long spans are common. We anchor to sturdy trees with tree-safe straps or set poles where there are no trees, tension support wire across the gap and add intermediate supports on longer runs. The result is a lit path or canopy that pulls guests out into the yard.

How do you light an Argyle patio that faces open pasture?

–

We set steel posts or poles in footings or heavy planters, then run catenary support wire between them so the strands stay tight across the span. Pole height, spacing and guy lines are planned for wind exposure, which is usually higher on open land than in a sheltered suburban yard.

What layout patterns are there?

–

The common ones are perimeter, zig-zag, center pole and parallel runs. Perimeter outlines the space, zig-zag creates a full canopy, center pole radiates runs like a tent and parallel runs suit long tables or lawns. We sketch the options so you can compare them before deciding.

Can the lights be dimmed or put on a timer?

–

Yes. LED bistro bulbs work with compatible dimmers, and timers or photocells can switch them on at dusk and off at a set hour. Smart plugs and switches add phone control and schedules. We help pick controls that fit how you use the space and place them where they are easy to reach.

Can you light a restaurant or brewery patio to commercial standards?

–

Yes. Commercial patios get heavier cable, tensioned support wire, protected connections and runs set high above standing guests. We plan around umbrellas, heaters and server paths, place controls where staff can reach them and schedule installs around your hours. Certificates of insurance are available before work begins.

Do LED bistro lights get hot?

–

LED bulbs run far cooler than incandescent bulbs, which is safer around fabric, umbrellas and pergola wood and more comfortable for guests on summer nights. They also use much less power, so more strands can run from a single circuit.

Can the lights be moved or taken down later?

–

Yes. Strands unclip from the support wire, and anchors can stay in place or be removed and patched. If you redesign the patio or add a pergola, kitchen or cover, we can relocate runs and reuse the poles, wire and hardware where it makes sense.

What's the difference between bistro, café and string lights?

–

Mostly the name. Bistro and café lights usually mean larger bulbs, such as S14, ST38 or G40, on heavier cable with sockets spaced evenly along the strand. String lights is the broad term that also covers small mini lights. Edison refers to a vintage bulb shape with a filament look, now made in LED.
