Landscape Lighting Services in Hurst
These are the effects we design most often under NTD (Nite Time Decor), our landscape lighting line.
01
Moonlighting from above
Downlights mounted high in a large tree cast dappled, moonlike shadows across the lawn and patio below. It suits big Hurst shade trees and feels natural rather than staged.
04
Patios and outdoor living
Deck, pergola and patio lighting makes the back yard usable after sunset. Downlights, step lights and hardscape fixtures keep the seating area comfortable, not glaring.
02
Walkways and steps
We light the routes people actually walk: drive to door, patio to pool, gate to back yard. Fixture spacing keeps footing clear and avoids the airport look.
05
Custom lighting design
Every plan starts on site, not from a catalog. We note trees, beds, materials and how you use the yard, then place each fixture with a purpose.
03
Architectural accents
Grazing a stone wall or washing a two-story entry shows off the materials the builder chose. We balance brightness so the front door stays the clear destination.
06
Business properties
We light signage, entry beds, walkways and building faces on commercial sites, with schedules set around business hours and a crew that is insured for commercial work.

How Low-Voltage LED Works in Hurst
A low-voltage system plugs into a transformer that steps household power down to about 12 volts. Cable runs from the transformer to each fixture through shallow trenches or under mulch.
At that voltage the wiring is far safer around kids, pets, sprinklers and garden tools than line-voltage lighting. LED lamps draw a fraction of the power older halogen bulbs used and last much longer, so a Hurst system can run every night without a big jump in the electric bill.
Transformer steps power down to about 12 volts
Shallow cable runs, no heavy conduit in beds
LED lamps use far less power than halogen
Safer around pets, kids and irrigation
From First Call to First Night
01
Start the conversation
Tell us about the property, the look you want and any HOA or commercial requirements we need to meet.
02
Site visit
We measure distances, photograph key trees and walls and check outlet locations so the plan reflects the real Hurst lot.
03
Size the system
Fixture count and wattage set the transformer size and cable layout, with headroom left so future additions plug into the same system.
04
Installation day
Fixtures go in, cable is buried shallow and connections are sealed. Many home installs wrap up in a day or two.
05
Service later
As plants grow we re-aim fixtures, clean lenses and swap failed parts on systems we installed, keeping the design as sharp as day one.
Hurst Yards, Streets and Storefronts
Hurst sits in the heart of the Mid-Cities, with established neighborhoods, wide residential streets and a strong retail core near NorthEast Mall. Mature trees are common, and many back yards have patios and pools that sit dark once the sun goes down. That makes Hurst a natural fit for layered lighting.
NorthEast Mall area
Retail and restaurant properties around NorthEast Mall and Precinct Line Road see heavy evening traffic. Lit signs, planted islands and walkways help customers find the entrance and feel comfortable crossing the lot after sunset. Fixtures are placed clear of curbs, carts and mowing so they keep working through busy seasons.
Mature-tree neighborhoods
Many Hurst streets were built out decades ago and now have large shade trees over the front lawns. Moonlighting from the canopy and a few uplights on the trunk give those yards depth without lighting up the neighbor's bedroom window.
Precinct Line and Pipeline Roads
Businesses on Precinct Line Road and Pipeline Road are seen mostly at driving speed. We light monument signs and front beds so a property reads at a glance, and set schedules that match opening hours. Even light on a sign face also makes the business name readable in photos and street views.
Back yards and pools
Hurst back yards often have pools, decks and covered patios. Step lights on pool edges, downlights on pergola beams and uplit fence-line trees make the space feel bigger and safer to use after dark. A separate zone for the pool area lets you run it only on nights you are outside.
Light That Makes a Property Feel Safer
Good landscape lighting is quiet security. Instead of one harsh floodlight, we spread softer light across entries, side yards, gates, drives and the back fence line so there are fewer dark spots to hide in.
Steady, even light also helps doorbell and security cameras capture faces and plates. It keeps steps and walks safe for family and guests coming home late. For Hurst homes and businesses alike, it does all that while still looking intentional from the street.
Fewer dark corners and hiding spots
Better images for security cameras
Safe footing on steps and walks
Softer than a single floodlight

What Drives Project Price
Scope, materials and site conditions decide cost more than anything else.
How much you light
A focused front-yard plan uses far fewer fixtures than a full-property design. We can start with the front and add the back yard later on the same system.
Tree size and height
Tall trees need stronger fixtures or more of them, and moonlighting from high branches takes climbing and careful mounting time that simple ground uplights do not.
Power and cable runs
The distance from your outlet to each fixture group matters. Far fence lines, gazebos and detached features need longer cable runs or a second transformer.
Site conditions
Rock, thick roots, dense beds and finished hardscape all affect install time. We note them on the site visit so the proposal reflects the real work.
Controls and zones
A single photocell and timer is the simplest setup. Several zones with app scheduling add hardware but let you run different areas on different schedules.

Questions About Landscape Lighting in Hurst
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
How long does installation take?
–
Many residential systems are installed in a day or two once the design is approved. Larger estates, commercial grounds and projects that cross hardscape take longer. We return after dark to fine-tune aim and brightness, so plan on one evening visit after the main installation day.
Can you light the pool area in my Hurst back yard?
–
Yes. We use step lights and low hardscape fixtures along pool edges and decks, sealed connections for wet locations and uplights on nearby trees for depth. The aim is safe footing and a calm look, not glare bouncing off the water into the house or the neighbor's yard.
Do you have to dig trenches across the yard?
–
Not in the way most people picture. Cable runs in a narrow slit a few inches deep or under existing mulch. Where we need to cross a driveway or walk, we plan the route during the site visit and explain it in the proposal before any work starts.
Are brass fixtures worth the extra cost?
–
For fixtures near lawns, drives and sprinklers, often yes. Brass and copper weather to a dark finish, resist corrosion and survive bumps from mowers better than painted aluminum. Aluminum can make sense in protected spots. We show both options in the proposal so you can choose by location.
Can I control the lights from my phone?
–
Yes, with app-based control. You can set schedules, change zones and turn lights on for a party or off for travel from your phone. Simpler systems use a photocell that turns lights on at dusk and a timer that turns them off at an hour you choose.
Do you light retail properties near NorthEast Mall?
–
We light commercial properties throughout Hurst, including retail and restaurant sites near NorthEast Mall and Precinct Line Road. Typical work covers monument signs, entry drives, planted islands and walkways, with insured crews and certificates of insurance available for property managers. We schedule work around store hours.
Do fixtures hold up to Texas heat, hail and storms?
–
Quality fixtures do. We use sealed connectors rated for wet ground, set fixtures on sturdy stakes and mounts and leave cable slack so shifting clay soil does not pull wires apart. After a big storm, a quick service visit can straighten or re-aim anything that moved.
Can you fix or add to a system another company installed?
–
Often, yes. We can inspect an existing low-voltage system, find failed connections or fixtures, convert halogen to LED and add new zones. If the transformer or cable is undersized for what you want, we explain the options before any work.
Do I need HOA approval for landscape lighting?
–
Some Hurst neighborhoods require architectural approval for exterior changes, and some limit glare or fixture types. Check your HOA's guidelines before installation. We can provide a layout and fixture details for your application and design the system to keep light on your property.
