Landscape Lighting in Bedford, TX
Bedford's established neighborhoods have something newer suburbs do not: big, mature trees. We use low-voltage LED lighting to make those trees, and the homes under them, look their part at night.
✓ Mature tree specialists ✓ Low-voltage LED ✓ Mid-Cities service

QUICK ANSWER
Landscape lighting in Bedford is a custom low-voltage LED system for your home or business. It typically uplights mature trees, adds path and step lights, washes the facade and brings soft light to patios. We visit, design, install with shallow cable and handle service. Older systems can often be upgraded to LED.

Lighting Bedford Properties
Established yards give us a lot to work with.
01
Canopy and Moonlighting
Soft downlights mounted high in mature trees let light filter through the leaves onto lawn and walks below. It reads like moonlight and keeps big yards from going black at night.
04
Pool Decks and Kitchens
Task light over the grill, a gentle glow around the pool coping and accents on nearby plantings make the backyard usable at night without turning it into a parking lot.
02
Upgrading Older Systems
Many Bedford homes have halogen landscape lights installed years ago. We test what is there, reuse what still works and replace failing fixtures and transformers with efficient LED.
05
Ranch and Two-Story Facades
Brick ranch homes and two-story traditionals each need a different facade plan. Low grazing light works on long ranch fronts, while taller homes need wider washes and accents at the gables.
03
Path and Walkway Lights
Low path fixtures mark the route from driveway to front door, along garden beds and out to the back gate. Guests see every step and edge without bright spots in their eyes.
06
Commercial Grounds
Office campuses, retail centers, restaurants and HOA entrances get the same design approach at a larger scale: signage, entries, parking edges, specimen trees and monument walls.

Mature Trees Change the Design
A forty-year-old oak behaves differently from a young tree. Its trunk is thick, its canopy is wide and its roots run close to the surface.
We place uplights to bring out bark and branch structure, add downlights high in the canopy for a moonlight effect where it suits, and run cable carefully around root zones. The goal is a tree that looks sculpted at night, with soft shadow patterns on the lawn below.

Around Bedford
Bedford sits in the middle of the Mid-Cities between Fort Worth and DFW Airport. Most of its neighborhoods were built in the 1970s and 1980s, and the landscapes show it.
Bedford Boys Ranch Park Area
Homes near Bedford Boys Ranch Park often back onto greenery and tall trees. Uplit trunks and soft backyard light let owners enjoy that wooded setting after dark without shining into the park. Path and patio lighting make the backyard usable on warm evenings when the park is quiet.
Airport Freeway Corridor
Offices, retail and restaurants along Airport Freeway, State Highway 183, need visibility from fast-moving traffic. Lit signs, entry trees and walkways help these properties stand out and feel safe for evening visitors. Schedules can run late for restaurants and shut off earlier for offices.
Old Bedford School Area
The historic Old Bedford School anchors one of the town's older districts. Nearby homes with traditional brick fronts suit warm facade washes, lit entry walks and accents on established shade trees. Small, discreet fixtures keep the focus on the architecture rather than the hardware.
Harwood Road Neighborhoods
Residential streets off Harwood Road mix ranch homes and two-stories under mature canopy. Even a small system on the front tree, the walk and the entry makes a visible difference here. Many owners add backyard trees and the patio as a second phase once they see the front lit.
From Halogen to LED
If your landscape lights have dimmed, flicker or have mostly quit, the system is not necessarily a loss. Old halogen setups often fail because of a tired transformer, corroded connections or buried fixtures.
We test each part, keep what is worth keeping and swap the rest for LED. You get brighter, warmer light, lower power use and fewer burned-out lamps. Our landscape lighting is offered under NTD, Nite Time Decor, and upgrades are a common first project.

What Drives a Lighting Proposal
We do not quote from a chart; these are the things we measure on site.
How much you light
Lighting only the street-facing view keeps a project tight. Adding the backyard, patio, side gates and every specimen tree grows the fixture list, the wire and the crew time together.
Timers and smart control
A simple photocell or timer keeps costs low. App control, multiple zones and scene scheduling add hardware and setup, and they are worth it for larger homes and commercial sites.
Fixture material
Solid brass and copper fixtures weather in and last outdoors for many years. Lighter aluminum bodies cost less up front. We explain the tradeoff and match material to where each fixture sits.
Big trees, bigger fixtures
A forty-foot canopy needs stronger fixtures, wider beams or several lights to read well at night. Tall, wide trees are some of the most striking features, and they shape the scope.
Wire runs and distance
Long runs to a back fence line, a far tree or a detached structure add cable and labor. Grouping fixtures into smart circuits keeps wire lengths and voltage drop under control.

Bedford Landscape Lighting FAQ
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Can you upgrade my old halogen landscape lights?
–
Yes. We test the transformer, wiring and fixtures, then recommend what to keep and what to replace. Often a mix of LED lamp swaps and new integrated LED fixtures does the job. The system ends up brighter, more efficient and easier to maintain.
Will uplights damage my old oak's roots?
–
No. Low-voltage cable runs only a few inches deep, and we route it around major surface roots rather than cutting through them. Fixtures are staked carefully near the trunk. The installation is much lighter on a tree than typical yard work like edging or planting.
Do you light businesses along Highway 183 in Bedford?
–
Yes. We light signs, entries, trees and walkways for offices, restaurants and retail properties. The design focuses on visibility from the freeway and safe, inviting walks from parking, with schedules matched to your hours. Certificates of insurance are available for property managers on request.
How is a landscape lighting project priced?
–
We price from the site, not a menu. The proposal is built from how many fixtures the design needs, what they are made of, how far the wire runs, whether we cross paving, and whether you want a simple timer or app control with zones. Many owners start with the front yard and add the back later.
How long does an install take?
–
Most residential systems are installed in one to two days once the design is approved. Larger estates, commercial grounds and projects that cross hardscape take longer. The bigger wait is usually scheduling the design visit, so it helps to reach out a few weeks before you want the lights on.
What is moonlighting?
–
Moonlighting is a technique where fixtures are mounted high in a tree and aimed down. Light filters through the leaves and lands on the lawn, walk or patio with a dappled pattern, much like a full moon. It works on large, mature trees and adds wide, gentle light.
Do fixtures hold up to Texas heat, hail and storms?
–
Quality fixtures do. We use commercial-grade LED fixtures with sealed housings, and heavier metal bodies where exposure is worst. Summer heat, spring storms and hail are part of life here, so we place and mount fixtures to stay put and keep working. If something gets damaged, we can come out on a service call.
Is more light always better?
–
No. Good landscape lighting uses contrast. A few well-placed fixtures on the right trees and the entry look better than an evenly lit yard. We light what deserves attention, let other areas fall into shadow and keep the overall scene calm and warm.
What is NTD?
–
NTD, short for Nite Time Decor, is the name of our landscape lighting line. It is the year-round side of Christmas Decor by Carruthers Decorative Lighting, run from the same Dallas office on Goodnight Lane with the same design and install team.
