What Your Wylie Season Includes

We take care of the work, and you get to pull into a lit driveway.

01

On-site design

We measure your house, look at how wind and open views affect it and draw a plan that suits the elevation.

04

Trees and lakeside yards

Trunk wraps, canopy lights and lit shrubs extend the display into the yard, including back yards that face open water or a greenbelt.

02

Leased commercial LED

No strands to buy. The lighting is provided with the service and goes back to our storage each January.

05

Service when needed

If a gust or a tripped outlet knocks out a section, call and a crew is on its way.

03

Cut and fitted

Runs are cut to the length of each eave and gable, leaving no slack to catch the wind.

06

Removal and storage

We remove the display once the holidays end and keep it, labeled, until the following season.

Wylie Homes Old and New

Wylie was incorporated in 1887 along the railroad, and the houses near Ballard Avenue include early 1900s homes, one of them dating to 1917, with porches and wood trim. Away from downtown, the city grew from about 15,000 people in 2000 to more than 57,000 in 2020, and the median home now dates to 2004 on a lot of roughly 8,700 square feet. Newer subdivisions are filled with brick and stone-front houses built close together.

Older downtown homes get garland on porches, lit windows and wrapped yard trees rather than heavy roof outlines. Newer stone-front homes take crisp gable and eave lines. The April 2016 hailstorm damaged an estimated 80 percent of Wylie homes, and many roofs in town were repaired or replaced afterward, so we clip lighting to gutters and shingle edges without piercing anything.

  • Porch garland on downtown homes

  • Stone-front two-stories outlined crisply

  • Window wreaths on older wood facades

  • Clips that never pierce the roof

  • Yard trees wrapped for height

The Wylie Install, Step by Step

01

Walk-through

We measure, check outlets and note wind exposure and any lake or greenbelt views.

02

Proposal

An itemized plan lets you add or remove trees, wreaths and rear lines before we cut lighting.

03

Install

Lighting is clipped in place, wired to a timer and switched on for a test before the crew leaves.

04

In-season care

One call during December brings a crew back for repairs.

05

Takedown

Once the holidays pass, everything comes down and returns to storage at our shop.

Wylie Neighborhoods We Light

From downtown to the lakeshore. We also light homes across the line in Sachse, including the Woodbridge golf community and in Rowlett on Lake Ray Hubbard.

Historic downtown and Ballard Avenue

Wylie's gathering place since 1887, rebuilt after a 1993 tornado with its century-old buildings preserved. Nearby homes from the early 1900s suit porch garland, window wreaths and trunk wraps.

Inspiration

A gated lakeside community overlooking Lavon Lake, with custom homes on oversized lots and Club Inspiration amenities. Large lots and lake wind call for secure roof runs, lit trees and pathway lighting.

South Wylie toward Lake Ray Hubbard

Wylie extends south into Dallas and Rockwall counties toward Lake Ray Hubbard. Newer brick and stone homes on these streets take a clean roofline, lit foundation shrubs and a trunk wrap on the front tree.

Woodbridge, Wylie side

Woodbridge straddles the Wylie-Sachse line around Woodbridge Golf Club. Its two-story houses, many with Tudor or Craftsman detailing, take outlined gables, and lots on the course can add a lit rear roofline.

Seis Lagos

A community of custom homes arranged around six small lakes, sharing the 75098 ZIP code north of town. Spacious homesites suit wrapped trees and long eave lines, and lake-facing rear elevations can be lit too.

Two Lakes, Open Views and Wind

Few North Texas towns sit between two lakes. Lake Ray Hubbard covers more than 22,000 acres to the south, and Lavon Lake lies to the northeast, where gated communities like Inspiration overlook the shoreline. Lake-facing homes and lots on open ground take steady winds, and they are often seen from the water or a greenbelt behind the house.

We fasten each run carefully on exposed elevations and recheck it on any service call. When a home backs to an open view, we ask whether a rear roofline or patio trees should be lit as well. HOA guidelines in communities such as Woodbridge and Inspiration are reviewed before install, and boards can learn about entrance lighting for associations.

  • Exposed elevations fastened with care

  • Rear rooflines lit when water or greenbelt faces them

  • Service calls cover wind repairs

  • HOA guidelines reviewed before install

  • Gate access arranged ahead of time

Cost Factors on a Wylie Display

Measured footage and your chosen elements set the quote.

How much roof you light

Front eaves and gables are the base. Rear lines facing a lake or greenbelt add footage.

Style and colors

Warm white, cool white, multicolor and patterned lines each need different product. For ideas, see holiday lighting looks trending now.

Height and exposure

Taller roofs and wind-exposed elevations take more time to rig and fasten.

Entry and yard extras

Garland, wreaths, bows and lit markers along the walk can be mixed and matched as add-ons.

Trees and shrubs

Mature trees near downtown or on big lots use far more lighting than the young trees in new sections.

Wylie Christmas Lighting FAQs

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Do you install Christmas lights on homes in Wylie?

–

Yes. We serve homes with Wylie's 75098 ZIP code, from Ballard Avenue to Woodbridge, Inspiration and the Dallas and Rockwall county sides of town. Wylie businesses and downtown storefronts are covered on our Wylie holiday lighting page.

What is the difference between your seasonal lease and permanent lights?

–

Leasing gives you a full holiday display with no ownership: we install, repair, remove and store it. Permanent LED lighting stays on the house all year and can be changed by app for any occasion. Learn about permanent lighting for Wylie homes.

How far ahead should I call for a Wylie install?

–

Get in touch by early fall. We usually begin installing in early November and keep going until the calendar is full, and lakeside and larger homes need a little more time on site.

When are the lights taken down?

–

Early January is typical, once the holidays wrap up. Removal includes every clip, cord and timer we installed.

Will my Woodbridge or Inspiration HOA approve?

–

Both communities have associations with their own guidelines, as do most newer Wylie neighborhoods. Send us your HOA's holiday rules and we design and schedule within them.

Will clips harm a roof that was replaced after the 2016 hail?

–

No. Lighting rides on clips at the gutter and shingle edge, and nothing pierces the shingles. The clips leave with the lights at takedown.

How are timers and power handled?

–

The display plugs into exterior receptacles, and a timer switches it on at dusk. LED lighting keeps the load small, and we check that outdoor circuits are working when we measure.

Can you light a lake-facing home that gets a lot of wind?

–

Yes. We fasten runs closely on exposed sides, avoid tall freestanding pieces that catch wind and come back on a service call if weather loosens anything.
