What a Duncanville Season Includes

Six parts, handled by us, from design to storage.

01

A design for your lot

Many Duncanville homes have big lots and old trees, so we plan the yard and the roof together rather than outlining the house alone.

04

Repairs in season

If a section goes dark before Christmas, call us and a crew comes out to fix it.

02

Leased LED lighting

We provide the commercial-grade lights each year. When they wear out, replacing them is on us.

05

Takedown after the holidays

In early January we remove every strand and clip from the house, trees and beds.

03

Cut to length

Runs are measured for each eave and gable, so wide single-story fronts finish with clean corners.

06

Storage

We store your lights in our shop, labeled to your address, until the next season.

Wide Brick Homes Under Old Trees

Duncanville went from about 3,800 residents in 1960 to nearly 28,000 by 1980, and then growth leveled off. That means most of its houses come from a 30-year window: single-story brick ranches with long eaves, followed by larger two-story homes in the 1980s and early 1990s. Greenbriar Estates has single-story homes from around 1981 on lots near half an acre, and Huntington Park has brick and siding homes from around 1990 tucked on cul-de-sacs.

Many lots are generous. In Winona Gardens, some 1960s ranch homes sit on more than an acre with fruit trees and ponds, and Thoroughbred Hills has early-1990s homes on half-acre lots with mature trees. A long ranch looks right with a single continuous eave line, while the bigger trees on these lots are often the strongest part of the display.

  • Long ranch eaves lit in one run

  • 1980s two-stories: gables and entry

  • Mature trees wrapped trunk to branch

  • Cul-de-sac homes framed for the turnaround

  • Acre lots given lit beds and walks

The Duncanville Install Process

01

Reach us

Share your Duncanville address and what you want lit. If you call before October, more install dates are still open.

02

Measure the house and yard

We measure the eaves, size up the trees, find outlets and ask about any HOA rules.

03

Hang and test

The crew installs and tests the approved design. Leave side gates open and you can be elsewhere.

04

Keep it lit

Timers run the display each evening, and a call to our office covers any repair.

05

Remove and store

In early January we take everything down and store it by address for next year.

Duncanville Neighborhoods We Light

Duncanville's neighborhoods are compact but varied in lot size and age. Just south, we light houses through our DeSoto residential Christmas lighting, and to the southwest through our home Christmas lights in Cedar Hill.

Thoroughbred Hills

An established neighborhood with horse-themed streets like Churchill Downs and Equestrian Trail, larger lots and mature trees. Homes from the early 1990s mix brick and board-and-batten, and big trees carry the display.

Huntington Park

Brick and siding homes from around 1990, some on cul-de-sacs, and listings here note no HOA. Gables and the garage edge are the focus, with wreaths on upper windows.

Skyline Haven Estates

Lots approaching an acre, where new two-story homes have gone up as recently as 2023. Tall peaks and a lit drive suit these properties.

Greenbriar Estates

Single-story homes from the early 1980s on lots near half an acre, some with long drives. A continuous eave line and lit walk give these houses a finished look.

Winona Gardens

1960s ranch homes, some on more than an acre with fruit trees and ponds. Lighting the trees and the drive often does more than lighting the roof.

Neighborhoods With and Without HOAs

Many older Duncanville neighborhoods have no homeowners association at all. Huntington Park listings, for example, note there is no HOA. That gives you more freedom with color, style and timing, though we still keep the design tidy and in scale with the street.

Other areas are different. Thorntree, the golf community near the DeSoto line, has gated sections with a clubhouse and tennis courts. If your street has an association, send us its guidelines and we design and schedule to them, and our guide for homes in HOA communities explains what associations usually cover. Either way, the city's holiday events near Armstrong Park bring neighbors out in December, so many homeowners like their displays up early.

  • No-HOA streets: more freedom on style

  • Gated sections: guidelines checked first

  • Designs kept in scale with the block

  • Early installs for December events

  • Colors chosen to suit the house

What Shapes a Duncanville Quote

We measure your home before quoting. These factors make the biggest difference.

Eave length

Wide single-story homes can have more eave footage than you expect. Front-only lighting keeps it lean.

Lot size

Acre lots with long drives and distant trees need longer runs and more planning.

Height

Two-story homes take more setup and safety work than single-story ranches.

Extras

Wreaths, garland and pathway lights are added individually to suit your plans.

Mature trees

Large established trees take more lighting to wrap than young trees, and they often deliver the biggest visual effect.

Duncanville Home Lighting FAQs

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Do you install Christmas lights on homes in Duncanville?

–

Yes. We light homes in Duncanville's 75116 and 75137 ZIP codes. For businesses on Main Street or HOA entrances, see our Duncanville commercial and HOA Christmas lighting.

Do I buy the lights, or lease? What about permanent lights?

–

You lease them. We supply the commercial-grade LED and handle maintenance, removal and storage. For lighting that stays on the house year-round, see our permanent lighting option near Duncanville.

When should I book?

–

Late summer or early fall is the time to call. Installs usually start in early November and the schedule fills from the first requests forward. Homes with several large trees to wrap need a longer design visit, so earlier is easier.

When are the lights removed?

–

The display stays up through the holidays and comes down in early January in most years. Our crew removes the lights from the roof, the trees and the beds, then stores everything for you.

Does my neighborhood need to approve the display?

–

Many older Duncanville streets have no HOA, so approval may not apply. If you live in a community with an association, such as the gated parts of Thorntree, send us the rules and we design to them. Either way, we keep the display in scale with the street.

Are the clips safe for an older roof and gutters?

–

Yes. Older roofs never get a nail or staple from us. Clips hold to gutters or tuck under shingle edges, and on 1960s and 1970s homes we check the gutter lip for loose sections before hanging anything.

Where do the lights plug in on a big lot with old trees?

–

Into your exterior outlets, with timers that turn the display on each evening. We check outlets and GFCIs during the design visit and plan runs to trees far from the house so they stay lit all season.

Can you light the big old trees in my yard?

–

Yes. Mature trees are common on Duncanville lots, and we wrap trunks and main branches for a strong look. We measure each tree at the design visit. For year-round tree uplighting, see Duncanville landscape lighting.
