Your Cedar Hill Display, All Included
We handle the heights, the slopes and the January cleanup.
01
A plan that reads from below
Homes on a rise are seen from the street at an upward angle, so we check sight lines before deciding which edges to light.
04
Service through December
Strong winds on high ground can loosen a run. A call to our office brings the crew back to repair it.
02
Leased commercial LED
Durable lighting you use for the season and hand back. There is nothing to replace when bulbs age.
05
Removal after New Year's
Early in January we take down every strand, clip and stake and leave the property clean.
03
Exact-length runs
We cut each line to its roof edge so stucco corners, hip roofs and tall peaks finish without loose ends.
06
Storage for next season
Your display goes into labeled storage at our shop and returns next fall, already sized to your home.

Hilltop Customs and Established Ranches
Cedar Hill is often called the hill country of Dallas. The city rises to around 800 feet on an Austin chalk escarpment, and at night the broadcast towers of Hill Tower are visible for about 20 miles. Lake Ridge, on the western edge near Joe Pool Lake, is the clearest example of hillside housing: recent custom homes in brick and stucco on lots from half an acre to more than four acres, some with views reaching Fort Worth and AT&T Stadium.
Other parts of the city are more settled. Many homes on the north side were built from the 1970s through the 1990s, while large homes on the rural-feeling west side are mostly from 2000 or later. A tall stucco custom on a ridge usually wants its full front outlined so it reads from the road below, while an established brick ranch looks finished with a single eave line, lit shrubs and one tree.
Hilltop homes outlined for long-distance views
Stucco and stone trim fastened without marks
Established ranches: eave line and shrubs
Sloped yards lit in steps down to the street
Large lots given lit trees and walkways

Cedar Hill Install, Step by Step
01
Request your quote
Share your address and the parts of the home you want lit. Late summer is the easiest time to get the date you want.
02
Site visit
We measure, check the slope and viewing angles and locate exterior outlets on every side.
03
Install day
The crew hangs and tests the approved design. Leave gates unlocked and you do not need to be there.
04
December care
Timers handle the nightly schedule, and any failure gets a repair visit after one call.
05
Takedown and storage
In early January we remove the display and store it, labeled for your address.
Cedar Hill Neighborhoods We Light
Cedar Hill's neighborhoods climb from Joe Pool Lake up the escarpment. Families a few minutes east can book the same service through our DeSoto home lighting page, and neighbors to the north can use our Duncanville residential Christmas lights.
Lake Ridge
The main neighborhood on the city's western edge, near Joe Pool Lake and the Cedar Ridge and Cedar Mountain preserves. Recent stucco and brick customs on large lots suit full outlines and lit trees along the drive.
High Pointe
An area off New Clark Road and High Pointe Lane that ranks among the city's higher-value neighborhoods. Front gables, entries and a lit tree or two make a balanced design here.
Historic Downtown area
Older homes near the downtown where the First State Bank building, robbed in 1932, still stands. Porches, simple eaves and doorway garland suit their scale.
Lake Ridge hilltop estates
Some Lake Ridge sections, such as those around Mountain View Court, sit on multi-acre lots on very high ground. A strong outline and lit gate or drive help these homes read from far below.
North Cedar Hill
Established neighborhoods where many homes date from the 1970s to the 1990s. Single-story brick fronts look tidy with one eave line, netted shrubs and a wreath on the door.
Slopes, Wind and Long Sight Lines
Elevation changes the design. A house sitting above the street is seen at an upward angle, so the eave line and the peaks matter more than the porch. A house below the road is seen from above, so the yard, the trees and the walk carry more of the look. We note which way your home faces and how it is viewed before drawing anything.
High ground also means more wind. Homes along the ridges and near open preserve land take gusts that flat suburbs do not, so we clip runs more closely at exposed corners and test each one before leaving. The city's natural areas, including Cedar Hill State Park, Dogwood Canyon and more than 45 miles of trails, put many yards next to open space. Our Cedar Hill landscape lighting can keep those paths lit all year.
Viewing angle checked before design
Uphill homes: roofline and peaks first
Downhill homes: yard and trees first
Tighter clips on ridgeline corners
Preserve-facing yards lit with care

What Sets a Cedar Hill Quote
We quote from your home's measurements and its setting. These are the main factors.
Roofline length
Lit eave and peak footage is the largest factor. Hilltop homes are often lit on more sides because they are seen from more directions.
Style choices
Warm white, multicolor and mixed designs all work. Browse our holiday lighting trends post for ideas.
Height and slope
Tall peaks and sloped yards take more setup and safety work than a single-story home on flat ground.
Extras
Wreaths, garland, column wraps and ground pieces are added one at a time.
Trees and drives
Long drives and big trees on large lots add product and longer runs.

Cedar Hill Homeowner Questions
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Do you install Christmas lights on homes in Cedar Hill?
–
Yes. We light homes in both Cedar Hill ZIP codes, 75104 and 75106, from Lake Ridge to the established streets on the north side. For HOA entrances and storefronts, see our Cedar Hill holiday lighting for communities and businesses.
Do I need to buy lights, or do you lease them? Is permanent lighting available?
–
We lease them. The commercial-grade LED stays ours, and we install, maintain, remove and store it. If you would rather have lighting mounted on the house all year, see our permanent lighting service near Cedar Hill.
When is the right time to book?
–
Aim for late summer through early fall. Installs typically start in early November. A multi-acre Lake Ridge property or a tall stucco custom takes longer to design and hang than a north-side ranch, so calling early helps us fit it in.
When will the lights be removed?
–
Takedown comes after New Year's, typically within the first half of January. The crew lowers every run, pulls stakes from sloped beds and stores the lighting until next season.
Does my HOA need to approve the lights?
–
Some Cedar Hill neighborhoods have associations with display rules and others have none. If yours does, forward the guidelines and the design will follow them, including any dates. Our Cedar Hill HOA lighting guidance explains what associations commonly cover.
Will clips damage my roof, gutters or stucco?
–
No. The roof never gets a nail or staple. Clips attach to gutters or slide under shingle edges, and on stucco or stone we choose fasteners that leave the finish unmarked when they come off.
What switches the Cedar Hill display on each night?
–
The display runs on timers plugged into your exterior outlets, so it comes on by itself at dusk. Hillside homes sometimes have outlets on only one side, so we find each one at the design visit and route the runs around them.
My house sits on a slope with long views. Does that change the design?
–
Yes. We check how your home is seen from the road and from below, then decide whether the roofline or the yard should lead. Corners facing the prevailing wind get tighter clip spacing, and every run is tested before the crew leaves.
