QUICK ANSWER

In Grand Prairie, Christmas Decor by Carruthers Decorative Lighting runs municipal holiday décor as a lease. We design one palette for sites across the city, supply commercial-grade LED product fit to each, install before events, handle service calls, then remove and store everything. Holiday décor across Grand Prairie

Each site works on its own, and together they read as one city.

01

A repeatable site kit

We design a standard set of pieces, such as entry wreaths, roofline runs and a lighted tree, then adapt it to each building so far-apart sites still look related.

04

Downtown business tie-ins

Restaurants, retail shops and law firms along the street can book the same service, so private storefronts match the public décor and the district reads as one design.

02

Park and plaza tree lighting

Trunk wraps and canopy lighting turn park trees into the focal point of a civic lawn. Our parent company has cared for commercial landscapes since 1978, so trees are treated with care.

05

Destination-area décor

Areas that draw visitors from across the region deserve a welcome that matches their scale. Larger elements and bold roofline lighting suit those spaces. We plan installs around the crowds those areas attract.

03

Lakeside and park lighting

Parks near the water and open greens can carry lighted trees and gathering-area décor that families visit after dark, with layouts planned around paths and parking.

06

The city Christmas tree

Whether the tree stands on a plaza or a lawn, we light it to be seen from across the space and timed to be ready before the tree-lighting ceremony starts.

One city look across three counties

Grand Prairie reaches into Dallas, Tarrant and Ellis counties, so its civic sites are spread far apart. Without a plan, each building ends up with its own style.

We start with a citywide palette and a kit of pieces, then fit that kit to every location. City Hall, libraries, recreation centers and parks each get décor sized for their space, but the colors and style repeat. Residents recognize the city's holiday look whether they live in the north or the south end.

  • One palette chosen with city staff

  • A standard kit adapted to each site

  • Sites grouped by area for installs

  • Consistent look north to south

  • Add sites year by year

Grand Prairie's season in five steps

01

Start on site

The first meeting happens outdoors. We look at buildings, poles and parks with your team and learn the dates your city cares about.

02

Plan in writing

We put the full scope on paper: locations, décor, schedule and service, ready for a manager, committee or council to review.

03

Install on schedule

Crews install in the agreed window, working around traffic, markets and city events, and finish before your tree lighting.

04

Season service

Maintenance is included in the program. Report an issue to our office and we schedule a fix quickly, with updates to staff.

05

Takedown and storage

In the new year we remove the display, leave sites clean and keep the product in our storage until next fall.

Grand Prairie places we know

Grand Prairie has several regional draws alongside its civic buildings. These are the areas we would look at with staff.

EpicCentral

The city's EpicCentral development combines parks, a lake and destination attractions. Lighted trees along paths and décor at public entries can make it a holiday stop for residents and visitors from across the region. We would plan installs around events already scheduled there.

Joe Pool Lake area parks

The southern part of the city borders Joe Pool Lake, with parks and open space nearby. City park sites there can carry tree lighting that families enjoy on winter evenings. We would review power access, wind exposure and parking areas on the site walk before choosing which trees to light.

Interstate corridors

Interstate 30 and Interstate 20 cross the city. Entry signs and civic buildings visible from these highways benefit from bold, simple lighting sized for drivers. Larger elements and continuous roofline runs hold up visually at a distance far better than small detail pieces.

City Hall and civic center

City Hall is the anchor for any municipal display. Roofline lighting, oversized entry wreaths and a lobby tree make it a clear starting point, and its design sets the palette for every other site. We usually install here first in the season.

Main Street and downtown

Grand Prairie's older downtown along Main Street suits pole swags, wreaths and storefront garland. Local shops and restaurants can book matching décor so the street feels unified. Pole décor on a few blocks gives the older core a clear holiday identity that residents recognize from year to year.

Purchasing support for Grand Prairie

A multi-site program needs clear documents. We respond to RFPs line by line, provide written quotes that list every site and send certificates of insurance for liability and workers' compensation.

Scheduling follows your calendar. We map tree lightings and events at EpicCentral and downtown first, then group installs by area so crews finish each zone efficiently. Departments with separate budgets can each receive their own quote while sharing one design.

  • Line-by-line responses to city RFPs

  • Quotes that list every site

  • Certificates of insurance per department

  • Installs grouped by area

  • Shared design, separate budgets

Grand Prairie budget factors

A spread-out city adds logistics to the usual factors.

Interior scope

Lobby trees, wreaths and garland for town offices and libraries are priced separately from outdoor work, so you can add or drop interiors easily from year to year.

Season length and service

Displays that go up early or stay up late cover more weeks of maintenance and service calls, which is part of the program cost and worth weighing early.

Roofline footage

Lighting on civic buildings is measured in linear feet. Taller buildings and complex rooflines need lifts and more time, which affects both cost and schedule for that building.

Poles and corridor length

Pole décor is priced per pole, so the length of the corridor and the spacing between poles shape the budget more than any other factor on a street job.

Distance between sites

Sites far apart add crew travel and setup time. Grouping locations by area during install keeps the program efficient and costs more predictable. We map the route before quoting.

Grand Prairie municipal questions

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Can you make sites across Grand Prairie look the same?

–

Yes. We design a citywide palette and a kit of pieces, then size them for each location. City Hall, libraries, recreation centers and parks each look right for their space but clearly belong to one city. New sites added later use the same kit.

Are your crews insured for work on public property?

–

Yes. Our crews carry liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we provide certificates of insurance before work starts. Our parent company is Carruthers Landscape Management, a Dallas family business founded in 1978 for commercial landscape management. We can send updated copies each season.

Who stores the décor between seasons?

–

We do. After takedown, the product returns to our storage, packed and labeled for your locations. Because it was custom-fit the first year, it goes back up faster the next season. Your facilities team never has to clear room for boxes of garland and wreaths.

Do you decorate at EpicCentral?

–

We can decorate city-owned public areas, such as paths, entries and trees. Private businesses at the development can book our commercial service directly and match the city's palette if they choose. We can time those installs to finish with the city's work.

Can you finish before our tree-lighting ceremony?

–

That date is the anchor of our schedule. Once we know when your ceremony or holiday event takes place, we set the install window to finish before it, with time left for a walkthrough so staff can confirm every piece is lit and in place.

Can parks and libraries each pay from their own budget?

–

Yes. Each department can receive its own quote and certificate of insurance while sharing the citywide design. That keeps accounting simple without losing a consistent look. Each department also gets its own line items for service calls, so costs stay clear at the end of the season.

Do you provide certificates of insurance?

–

Yes. Our crews carry liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we send certificates of insurance for your files. Tell us what your purchasing or risk office needs listed on the certificate, and we will request it before any work begins on city property.

How early should a city start planning holiday lighting?

–

Spring or early summer is ideal, while budgets are still being set. That leaves time for a site walk, a design, a written quote and any council review. Summer requests still work, but fall install calendars fill quickly, so earlier planning gives your city first pick of install dates.

How do you plan installs in a large city?

–

We group sites by area and set a calendar that works through each zone in order, finishing before your earliest event. High-visibility sites like City Hall usually go first. Takedown follows the same zones in reverse, and staff get the full calendar in advance.
