QUICK ANSWER

Grand Prairie landscape lighting is a low-voltage LED system planned for your property: uplit trees, path and step lights, facade washes, patio and lakeside light, and security lighting. Businesses get sign, entry and parking-edge lighting. We visit, design, install with shallow cable and handle service calls once it is running.

Lighting Options in Grand Prairie

Grand Prairie projects range from new builds to large commercial sites.

01

Uplighting Trees

Fixtures at the base of live oaks, cedar elms and red oaks throw light up through the canopy. Bark texture and branch shape become the focal point after dark, with no glare toward the street.

04

Patios and Outdoor Living

Downlights in pergolas, step lights on decks and soft accents around seating let you use the patio, pool deck or outdoor kitchen long after sunset through the warm months.

02

New-Construction Homes

Many Grand Prairie neighborhoods are newer, with young trees and fresh beds. Facade, entry and path lighting carry the design now, with power planned for trees as they grow.

05

Entertainment and Retail Sites

Venues, restaurants and shopping centers draw evening crowds. Lit signs, entry trees and walkways make these properties easy to find and comfortable to walk through at night.

03

Steps, Walks and Drives

Short bollards, step lights and path fixtures follow the way people really move across the property. Each one is spaced to pool light on the ground, not into anyone's face.

06

Lighting for Peace of Mind

Fixtures aimed at fence lines, side gates, back doors and parking areas leave fewer dark pockets around the property. Timers keep it all on schedule whether you are home or away.

Lighting a Young Landscape

A newer home with small trees can still look great at night. The facade does most of the work while the landscape fills in.

We wash the front of the house, define the entry, light the walk and add accents on beds and young trees. The transformer is sized for the full future design, so as trees grow tall enough to uplight properly, fixtures can be added without starting over. It is lighting that grows with the yard.

  • Facade washes carry the design early

  • Lit entry and front walk

  • Accents on beds and young trees

  • Transformer sized for future growth

Uplights, path lights, washes and downlights are matched to each feature, with warm white color chosen to suit the stone and plants.

04

Install and Aim

Our insured crew sets fixtures, runs shallow low-voltage cable and aims every light, then checks the whole system once it is dark.

05

After dusk we fine-tune angles and brightness so nothing glares, then hand over timer or app control before we leave.

Lighting Around Grand Prairie

Grand Prairie spans Dallas and Tarrant counties and covers a lot of ground. Here is where our designs tend to focus.

Lake Ridge and Joe Pool Lake

Homes in the Lake Ridge area near Joe Pool Lake often have larger lots, sloped yards and lake views. Step lights, shoreline tree accents and patio lighting are aimed to keep the water view clear. Circuits are planned for long runs on larger lots so far fixtures stay as bright as near ones.

Lone Star Park Area

Commercial and hospitality properties near Lone Star Park see heavy event traffic. Steady, reliable lighting on signs, entries and parking edges supports evening crowds without glare toward the road. Lit walkways and parking edges help guests and staff move safely on event nights.

EpicCentral

The parks, waterpark and restaurants at EpicCentral draw evening visitors. Nearby businesses benefit from lit entries, signs and landscaped frontage that make them easy to spot and comfortable to approach after dark. Schedules can run later on busy weekend nights and shut off earlier during the week.

Grand Prairie Premium Outlets

Retail properties near the Grand Prairie Premium Outlets along I-20 need visible frontage and safe walks. Lit signs, trees and planted islands help them stand out in a busy shopping area. Schedules follow store hours, with a lower security level running after closing.

Lighting for Grand Prairie Businesses

Grand Prairie is home to distribution centers, offices, entertainment venues and retail. Each needs lighting that keeps the property visible and safe night after night.

We light signs, entries, trees, planted islands and walkways with commercial-grade LED fixtures, scheduled to operating hours. Carruthers has managed commercial landscapes since 1978, so we place fixtures with maintenance in mind. Our landscape lighting line is NTD, Nite Time Decor, and certificates of insurance are available on request.

What Shapes the Cost in Grand Prairie

Here is what moves a landscape lighting proposal up or down.

Number of fixtures

Fixture count is the biggest driver. A front yard with a few trees and a walk needs far fewer lights than a full property with backyard, side yards, patio and pool all in the plan.

Building in stages

You do not have to light everything at once. A phased plan spreads the work out, and sizing power for the final design keeps the second phase from redoing the first.

Brass, copper or aluminum

Heavier metal fixtures stand up to mowers, heat and weather better and age into a natural patina. Painted aluminum is lighter and less costly. Material choice shows up directly in the proposal.

Tree height and mounting

Uplighting from the ground is straightforward. Mounting downlights high in a tall oak for a moonlight effect takes climbing, careful strapping and more time on site.

Transformer and power

Larger systems need a bigger transformer, or more than one, to keep voltage steady to the far fixtures. The location of usable outdoor power also changes how the system is laid out.

Grand Prairie Landscape Lighting FAQ

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Can you light a newer home with small trees?

–

Yes. The facade, entry and walk carry the design while the trees grow. We add accents to beds and young trees and size the transformer for the full future layout, so uplights can be added later as the trees get big enough to light well.

Do you light homes near Joe Pool Lake?

–

Yes. Lake Ridge and other lakeside neighborhoods often have sloped yards and water views. We light steps, paths and shoreline trees, aim fixtures away from the water to avoid glare and add patio lighting so the view can be enjoyed at night.

Do you light warehouses and distribution centers?

–

Yes. We light entry signs, landscaped frontage, trees and pedestrian walks for distribution centers and offices. Lighting is planned for visibility from the road and safety for employees walking to their cars, on schedules that match shifts. Certificates of insurance are available.

What does landscape lighting cost in Grand Prairie?

–

It depends on the property, so we do not quote a flat number. Fixture count, fixture material, transformer size, wire distance, hardscape crossings and the control system set the cost. After a site visit you get a written proposal with each of those factors spelled out, so you can trim or add scope with clear numbers in front of you.

How soon can the lights be on?

–

After the site visit and your approval of the layout, we book an install date. Typical homes take a day or two of crew time, and we finish by aiming fixtures after dark. Spring and early fall fill up quickly, so planning ahead keeps your project on the calendar you want.

Should I choose LED fixtures?

–

For almost every project, yes. LED fixtures use a fraction of the power of old halogen lamps, run cooler, last far longer and offer warm white tones that look natural on stone and plants. Fewer lamp changes also means less upkeep over the life of the system.

Are LED landscape lights energy efficient?

–

Very. Each LED fixture uses a few watts, a small share of what halogen used, and modern transformers waste little power. Pair that with a dusk-to-late schedule and the system runs every night for a modest amount of electricity, even on larger properties.

Do I need HOA approval for landscape lighting?

–

Many Grand Prairie neighborhoods have an HOA, and some ask owners to submit exterior changes. Low-voltage landscape lighting is usually simple to approve, especially warm white light aimed away from the street and neighbors. We can give you a layout and fixture details to include with your request.

Can you light our business sign and entry?

–

Yes. Monument signs, entry walls, flagpoles and specimen trees are some of the most common commercial lighting requests. We plan the layout around visibility from the road, safe walkways and the hours your business needs the lights on, and we stay available for service after install.
