Café Lights for Grand Prairie Homes and Businesses

One crew and one plan, from a small patio to a full courtyard.

01

Office and Campus Plazas

Corporate courtyards and outdoor break areas get a warm, finished look after hours. Installs are scheduled before or after business hours so staff and visitors are not disrupted.

04

Apartment Amenity Decks

Pool decks, grilling stations and lounges at multifamily properties get commercial-grade runs that stay up year-round and look finished in tours and photos. Service is scheduled around residents.

02

HOA Amenity Centers

Clubhouse patios, community pools and pavilions get lighting that matches the neighborhood's standards. Access, timing and design are coordinated with the board or management company.

05

Pool Decks

Lights stay well above the water and back from the pool edge, with runs planned around ladders, slides and umbrellas. The result is a soft glow for evening swims without cords on the deck.

03

Backyard Patios

Straight runs or a zig-zag canopy over the seating area, hung high enough to clear heads and umbrellas. Strands ride on support wire so the lines stay crisp instead of drooping between anchor points.

06

Bulb and Strand Choices

S14 and ST38 Edison shapes, round G40 globes and other styles, all in warm white tones. We help match bulb shape and spacing to the space and the mood you want.

From Patio Lights to Holiday Lights

Because we are also a Christmas Decor franchise, a commercial bistro system can be part of a bigger plan. The anchors, poles and power we set for patio strands can carry holiday lighting from late fall through the season.

For Grand Prairie restaurants, venues and commercial properties, that means one team, one set of hardware and less wear on the building. After the holidays, we remove and store the holiday décor and the bistro lights carry on.

  • Shared anchors and power

  • Holiday design installed for the season

  • Removal and storage after the holidays

  • Bistro strands stay in service

Planning and Hanging Your Lights

01

Book a Site Visit

Call 972-620-9560 to set a time. For commercial properties in Grand Prairie we can meet a manager or owner on site at an hour that suits you.

02

Check Power and Anchors

We locate outlets and switches, check whether a new circuit may be needed and confirm which walls and posts can carry tension.

03

Spec the Hardware

We size support wire, poles, mounts and cable for the span lengths and wind exposure, so the system is built for this exact site.

04

Hang and Tension

Strands are clipped to the support wire at even intervals, leveled and trimmed of slack so every line looks clean from the seating area.

05

Holiday Season Option

For commercial properties, the same anchors can carry holiday lighting from our Christmas Decor team, then return to bistro strands after.

Grand Prairie Spaces We Light

Grand Prairie stretches across three counties, from entertainment venues in the north to lake communities near Joe Pool Lake in the south. Outdoor gathering spaces range from family backyards to large public venues.

EpicCentral

EpicCentral's park, lake and restaurants draw crowds for events and dining. Large venue spaces like this use permanent string lighting to make paths and patios inviting at night and ready for scheduled events. Timers and zoned controls keep the lighting consistent from early evening events to late closing.

Lone Star Park Area

Restaurants, hotels and venues near Lone Star Park host event crowds. Patio and terrace lighting there must handle busy nights, so we use commercial-grade cable, high runs and secure terminations. Shatter-resistant bulbs and protected connections keep runs working through busy nights.

Family Backyards

Grand Prairie neighborhoods have plenty of covered patios and pools. A canopy over the seating area or a run from the house to a pergola creates an outdoor room for weeknight dinners and weekend gatherings. Shatter-resistant bulbs and a dimmer suit yards where the pool sits next to the patio.

Joe Pool Lake and Lake Ridge

Lake Ridge and other communities near Joe Pool Lake have patios with water views and steady wind. Runs are tensioned on support wire, poles are sized for exposure, and strands stay clear of the shoreline. Corrosion-resistant fasteners and guy lines help where yards open onto the water.

I-20 Retail Corridor

Retail and dining along I-20 and the outlet area can use walkway and patio lighting to draw evening visitors. We plan around signage, lift access and delivery routes so the lights never get in the way. Timers switch the lights on at dusk so the walkways glow as evening shoppers arrive.

No Walls in Grand Prairie? We Set Poles

Many patios and lawns have one wall at most. Freestanding poles solve that. Depending on the site, we set steel posts in concrete footings, mount poles to deck framing or use heavy planters where digging is not an option.

Pole height, spacing and guy lines are planned for the span and the wind exposure in Grand Prairie. Finishes can be painted to match fences or railings, so the poles look like part of the design rather than an afterthought.

  • Steel posts set in concrete footings

  • Deck-mounted poles for raised spaces

  • Planter bases where digging is not possible

  • Guy lines on long or exposed spans

  • Painted finishes to match the setting

Factors That Change the Scope

Use these to decide where to spend and where to keep it simple.

Anchor Points

Walls, beams and sturdy trees are ready-made anchors. Where they are missing, poles, footings or weighted planters add material and labor, so the number of anchors needed shapes the project.

Controls

A plain switch costs less than dimmers, timers, smart plugs or zoned controls. Those upgrades add cost upfront but make the lights easier to use every single night.

Cable Grade

Commercial-grade cable with heavier gauge and sealed sockets costs more than consumer strands from a big-box store, but it lasts far longer outdoors, especially on a permanent install.

Ongoing Service

Seasonal checks, bulb replacement and re-tensioning keep a system looking new for years. It is worth talking through service expectations and response times before the install begins.

Height and Access

Second-story eaves, rooftops and tall pergolas may call for lifts, extra ladders or added safety setup, all of which affect labor time on install day.

Answers for Grand Prairie Homes and Businesses

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Do you light lakeside homes near Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie?

–

Yes. Lakeside patios and decks are a great fit for string lights, but exposure matters. We use poles and catenary wire sized for wind off the water, corrosion-resistant hardware and shorter spans on open lots. Power is planned well away from the shoreline and any dock or boat lift.

How do you hang lights where there is no wall or tree?

–

We set freestanding poles. Depending on the site, that means steel posts in concrete footings, poles mounted to deck framing or weighted planters where digging is not an option. Support wire runs between the poles and the house so the strands stay tight across the open space.

How high should string lights hang?

–

High enough to clear heads, umbrellas and anything guests carry, but low enough to feel like a ceiling over the space. On most patios that means anchor points around the height of the eaves or higher. We set heights during the layout and adjust them on install day if needed.

Can I control the lights from my phone?

–

Yes. Smart plugs or smart switches rated for outdoor use add app control, schedules and voice control on many systems. For larger properties, separate zones can run on separate schedules. We recommend options that work with the strands and dimmers on your system.

Who installs the lights?

–

Christmas Decor by Carruthers Decorative Lighting, based at 11593 Goodnight Lane in Dallas. Our parent company, Carruthers Landscape Management, is a Dallas family business founded in 1978 by Ben Carruthers, and we have lit commercial and large residential properties for over five years.

Which bulb shape should I choose?

–

It comes down to the look. S14 is the classic café bulb, ST38 is a taller Edison shape with vintage character, and G40 is a round globe with a softer glow. Restaurants often pick S14 or ST38, while G40 suits relaxed backyards. We can show examples during the site visit.

What about hail and summer storms?

–

Shatter-resistant LED bulbs hold up far better than glass in small hail, and tensioned support wire keeps spans from whipping in strong gusts. After a major storm, it is worth a quick look at anchors and spans. If anything has shifted on a system we installed, call us for a service visit.

Do you supply the lights or install ones I already bought?

–

We supply the strands, bulbs, support wire and hardware for the systems we install, because store-bought strands are usually too light for tensioned, permanent runs. If you already own strands, mention it during the site visit and we will tell you honestly whether they are likely to hold up.

How long does a typical backyard install take?

–

Many backyard patios and pergolas are installed in a single visit. Larger layouts, long lawn spans and jobs that need poles set in concrete can take longer, because footings need time before wire is tensioned. You get a clear schedule with the layout plan, before any work starts.
