Landscape Lighting Services in Plano
These are the effects we design most often under NTD (Nite Time Decor), our landscape lighting line.
01
Shade trees as the centerpiece
One large tree, lit well, often does more for a Plano yard than a dozen small fixtures. We pick the strongest specimens and light them from two sides for depth.
04
Patio and pergola light
Small downlights on beams, step lights on stairs and accents on planters turn a dark patio into a room you actually use after sunset in Plano.
02
Front elevation lighting
Wide, warm wash light across the front of the house gives it presence from the street, while narrow beams pick out columns, stone and the entry door.
05
Security and visibility
Light at side yards, gates, garage corners and dark beds removes hiding spots and helps cameras record usable images. It is quieter than a floodlight and easier on the neighbors.
03
Hardscape and walls
Slim fixtures tucked under wall caps, seat walls and step treads light stone without showing the source. They suit retaining walls and terraced beds common on sloped lots.
06
Service and adjustments
Plants grow, trees fill in and fixtures get bumped by mowers. We re-aim, clean lenses, replace failed parts and update timers on systems we install.

How Low-Voltage LED Works in Plano
A low-voltage system plugs into a transformer that steps household power down to about 12 volts. Cable runs from the transformer to each fixture through shallow trenches or under mulch.
At that voltage the wiring is far safer around kids, pets, sprinklers and garden tools than line-voltage lighting. LED lamps draw a fraction of the power older halogen bulbs used and last much longer, so a Plano system can run every night without a big jump in the electric bill.

What Happens After You Call
01
Call or request
Reach our office at 972-620-9560, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, and we set a time to see the Plano property.
02
Walk the grounds
A designer walks the yard, notes trees, beds, hardscape and power, and asks how you use the space after dark.
03
Size the system
Fixture count and wattage set the transformer size and cable layout, with headroom left so future additions plug into the same system.
04
Clean install
The crew works around irrigation heads, roots and beds, and leaves the Plano yard looking the way they found it.
05
Aim after dark
We return at night to fine-tune aim and brightness, set the timer or app schedule and walk you through it.
Plano Neighborhoods We Light
Plano has everything from large estates around Willow Bend to established streets in Deerfield and Hunters Glen and the corporate campuses of Legacy. Mature trees, stone and brick facades and busy back yards are common. Each part of the city calls for its own mix of fixtures.
Willow Bend
Larger homes near Willow Bend often have formal entries, stone facades and specimen trees. Layered lighting with facade grazing, uplit trees and lit walks suits the scale without overdoing it. Multiple zones let you run the front, trees and back yard on separate schedules.
Legacy West and Legacy Town Center
Offices, retail and restaurants in the Legacy area need even, dependable light on signage, entry drives and plantings, scheduled around tenants and busy evening crowds. Durable fixtures inside curbed beds stay protected from carts, foot traffic and maintenance crews, which keeps service calls to a minimum.
Deerfield and Hunters Glen
These established west Plano neighborhoods have mature trees over the front lawns. Moonlighting and a warm entry wash give each home a finished look that fits the street. Older halogen systems in these neighborhoods can often be converted to LED, cutting power use and frequent bulb changes.
Near Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
Homes close to Arbor Hills often back up to trees and open space. Soft, shielded fixtures keep the natural feel while lighting patios and paths. Warm color temperatures and low brightness keep the edge of the preserve feeling wild, while still giving you safe footing on the patio at night.
One Team for Landscape and Holiday Lights
We also install Christmas lighting for homes in Plano, so the same company that lights your trees in July can light your roofline in December.
The landscape system keeps running all season, and the holiday design is planned around it so the two looks work together instead of competing. You keep one phone number for both, and our office at 972-620-9560 schedules the holiday install, in-season service calls and removal.

How We Build a Proposal
We price every system from the property itself, and these are the factors that move it.
How much you light
A focused front-yard plan uses far fewer fixtures than a full-property design. We can start with the front and add the back yard later on the same system.
How you switch it on
Automatic dusk-on and timed shutoff come standard on most designs. Adding phone control and more zones adds hardware, wiring and setup time to the project, so we only include what you will use.
Metal and finish
Fixtures near sprinklers, lawn edges and drives take the most abuse. Choosing heavier metals there and lighter ones in protected beds balances cost and durability.
Trenching and hardscape
Running cable under mulch beds is quick. Crossing driveways, boring under walks or fitting fixtures into stone walls takes more labor, tools and planning on install day.
Tree size and height
Tall trees need stronger fixtures or more of them, and moonlighting from high branches takes climbing and careful mounting time that simple ground uplights do not.

Questions About Landscape Lighting in Plano
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
How much does it cost to light a Plano yard?
–
There is no single number because every yard is different. The main drivers are how many fixtures you need, whether they are brass or aluminum, the transformer size, the distance cable has to travel and whether we cross concrete or stone. We visit, measure and send a written proposal that shows each factor.
Can you light a Willow Bend-sized estate?
–
Yes. Larger properties may need several zones, more than one transformer and a mix of uplights, moonlights, path lights and hardscape fixtures. We plan zones so you can run the front, back and trees on separate schedules, and we can phase the project if you prefer.
How much digging does installation involve?
–
Very little. Cable is laid a few inches down in a narrow slit or tucked under mulch, so there are no wide trenches across the lawn. We avoid sprinkler heads and roots, close every slit as we go and clean up before we leave the property.
What should I tell my HOA about landscape lighting?
–
Most architectural committees want to see a layout, fixture types and finishes and confirmation that light will not spill onto neighbors. We can prepare those details for your application and design with shielded fixtures and warm color so the system fits typical guidelines.
What is the difference between brass and aluminum fixtures?
–
Brass and copper are heavier, resist corrosion and develop a natural dark finish that blends into beds. Aluminum is lighter, less costly and works well in protected areas. Many designs mix them, using brass where sprinklers and mowers are a factor.
Do you light corporate grounds in Legacy?
–
Yes. We light commercial and office properties in Plano, including the Legacy area: monument signs, entry drives, planted medians, walkways and building faces. We carry liability insurance and workers' compensation and provide certificates of insurance. Fixtures are placed inside beds where they are protected and easy to service.
Can you light large oak trees?
–
Yes. Big oaks can be uplit from the ground to show the trunk and canopy, moonlit from fixtures mounted high in the branches, or both. Moonlighting casts soft shadow patterns across the lawn and is one of the most natural effects in landscape lighting.
Can different parts of the yard run on different schedules?
–
Yes. We can wire the system into zones, such as front trees, path lights and the back patio, and set each one separately. Many owners leave path and security lights on all night while accent lights shut off around midnight.
Can you also hang Christmas lights at my Plano home?
–
Yes. We install residential Christmas lighting in Plano, so the team that maintains your landscape lighting can also design, install, service and remove your holiday display. The landscape system keeps running all season, and we plan the holiday look around it.
