Where the Light Goes
Pick one effect or combine several; NTD (Nite Time Decor) is the name our landscape lighting work goes by.
01
Tree uplighting
Fixtures at the base of oaks, elms and ornamental trees push light up through the canopy, so the trunk and branches become the focal point of the Mansfield yard after dark.
04
Monuments and signs
A lit monument sign or community entry tells drivers they have arrived. We wash the lettering evenly, light the plantings around it and keep glare out of drivers' eyes.
02
Facade and architecture
Wash and grazing lights bring out stone, brick, columns and entry details. The goal is a balanced front elevation, with no hot spots and no dark gaps across the Mansfield house.
05
Patios and outdoor living
Deck, pergola and patio lighting makes the back yard usable after sunset. Downlights, step lights and hardscape fixtures keep the seating area comfortable, not glaring.
03
Path and walkway lights
Low path fixtures mark the front walk, side gate and garden steps so guests in Mansfield can see where they are going, spaced to pool light rather than line up like a runway.
06
Design built for your lot
We sketch where every fixture, cable run and transformer goes, so you know what the finished Mansfield property will look like before a single trench is cut.

How Low-Voltage LED Works in Mansfield
A low-voltage system plugs into a transformer that steps household power down to about 12 volts. Cable runs from the transformer to each fixture through shallow trenches or under mulch.
At that voltage the wiring is far safer around kids, pets, sprinklers and garden tools than line-voltage lighting. LED lamps draw a fraction of the power older halogen bulbs used and last much longer, so a Mansfield system can run every night without a big jump in the electric bill.

Shallow cable runs, no heavy conduit in beds
LED lamps use far less power than halogen

How a Mansfield Project Runs
01
Start the conversation
Tell us about the property, the look you want and any HOA or commercial requirements we need to meet.
02
Walk the grounds
A designer walks the yard, notes trees, beds, hardscape and power, and asks how you use the space after dark.
03
Size the system
Fixture count and wattage set the transformer size and cable layout, with headroom left so future additions plug into the same system.
04
Install with care
Our insured crew sets fixtures, runs cable in narrow slits or under mulch, and restores beds and turf as it goes.
05
Service later
As plants grow we re-aim fixtures, clean lenses and swap failed parts on systems we installed, keeping the design as sharp as day one.
Lighting Mansfield, Old and New
Mansfield has a historic downtown, established neighborhoods with mature trees and a long list of newer master-planned communities with entry monuments and amenity centers. Each setting calls for a different plan. We design from the site visit, not from a template.
Historic Downtown Mansfield
Shops and restaurants along Main Street benefit from warm light on older brick, lit signs and soft path light that makes the district inviting after dark and comfortable to walk. Fixtures tuck into planters and storefront ledges so they disappear by day and keep attention on the historic details.
US 287 and FM 1187
Retail and offices near US 287 and FM 1187 are seen by heavy commuter traffic. Clean sign and entry lighting on a photocell and timer helps them read clearly every night. We place fixtures inside curbed islands and beds, where they are protected from cars, carts and mowers.
Master-planned communities
Many Mansfield neighborhoods have stone entry monuments, median plantings and amenity centers. Even, reliable light on those features sets the tone for the whole community. We can also help HOA boards phase lighting across several entrances, starting with the most visible one and adding the rest over time as budgets allow.
Walnut Creek area
Homes near Walnut Creek and the city's greenbelts often have larger trees and darker back yards. Moonlighting and patio lighting make those spaces usable after sunset. Fixtures near the creek and greenbelt edges are chosen with damp ground in mind, and cable is kept above low spots where water collects.
Landscape Lighting for Mansfield Businesses
Commercial properties need light that works every night without anyone thinking about it. We light monument signs, drive entries, parking islands, building faces and walkways for offices, retail centers, churches and medical buildings.
Our parent company, Carruthers Landscape Management, has worked on commercial grounds across Dallas-Fort Worth since 1978, so we plan fixtures around irrigation, mowing and planting cycles. Liability insurance and workers' compensation are in place, and we provide certificates of insurance on request.

What Shapes the Cost
Your proposal is built from these factors, explained line by line.
Scope of the design
Lighting one tree and a walk is a small job; lighting the whole front, both side yards and the patio is a large one. Scope drives cost more than anything else.
Tree size and height
Tall trees need stronger fixtures or more of them, and moonlighting from high branches takes climbing and careful mounting time that simple ground uplights do not.
Brass vs aluminum
Material changes both price and lifespan. We show you both options for the fixtures that take the most abuse, like path lights near the lawn edge.
Controls and zones
A single photocell and timer is the simplest setup. Several zones with app scheduling add hardware but let you run different areas on different schedules.
Commercial requirements
Larger sites need tougher fixtures, longer runs and crews scheduled around customers, tenants or residents. Certificates of insurance are part of the package for property managers and boards.

Mansfield Landscape Lighting FAQ
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Why can't you quote landscape lighting over the phone?
–
Because the property sets the price. Tree size, lot depth, hardscape, outlet locations and how much you want lit all change the fixture count and labor. A short site visit lets us give you an accurate written proposal, with options to start smaller and add more later.
Do you light HOA entrances in Mansfield communities?
–
Yes. We light entry monuments, stone walls, median trees and amenity areas across Mansfield's master-planned communities. Boards receive a written proposal explaining each cost factor, and our crew is insured, with certificates of insurance available for the management company. Phasing across several entrances is an option.
Will installation tear up my lawn and beds?
–
No. Low-voltage cable only needs a shallow slit in turf or a run under mulch, not a wide trench. The crew works around irrigation heads and roots, closes the slits as it goes and leaves beds the way it found them. Within a few days the cable lines are hard to spot.
Is LED light too cold or blue for a house?
–
Not with the right lamps. Landscape LEDs come in warm white, around 2700K, which looks like traditional halogen light. They use far less power, run cool and last many times longer, so you get the classic look without frequent bulb changes.
Will my HOA allow landscape lighting?
–
Most HOAs allow it, though some ask for approval first or have rules about brightness and glare. We keep beams aimed onto your property, avoid light toward neighbors and can give you a fixture list and layout to include with an approval request.
Can you light storefronts in Historic Downtown Mansfield?
–
Yes. We light storefront facades, signs, planters and walkways for downtown businesses. Warm white light suits older brick and keeps the district feeling historic rather than commercial. Schedules can follow store hours and local events. Fixtures tuck into planters and ledges so they stay hidden by day.
Do you service the system after installation?
–
Yes. We provide service calls on systems we install: re-aiming fixtures as trees and shrubs fill in, cleaning lenses, replacing failed parts and updating timers or app schedules. Call the office at 972-620-9560 during business hours to set one up.
Are brass fixtures worth the extra cost?
–
For fixtures near lawns, drives and sprinklers, often yes. Brass and copper weather to a dark finish, resist corrosion and survive bumps from mowers better than painted aluminum. Aluminum can make sense in protected spots. We show both options in the proposal so you can choose by location.
Can I see how it will look before you install?
–
Yes. We walk through the plan with you and show where each fixture goes and what it lights. Because placement is everything in landscape lighting, we also adjust aim and brightness after dark on install day, so the final look is tuned in person rather than left to chance.
