Fixtures and Effects We Install

These are the effects we design most often under NTD (Nite Time Decor), our landscape lighting line.

01

Path fixtures done right

Staggered placement and soft pools of light read as natural; straight rows of stake lights look like a runway. We space fixtures to fit the shape of each walk.

04

Facade and architecture

Wash and grazing lights bring out stone, brick, columns and entry details. The goal is a balanced front elevation, with no hot spots and no dark gaps across the Kennedale house.

02

Tree uplighting

Fixtures at the base of oaks, elms and ornamental trees push light up through the canopy, so the trunk and branches become the focal point of the Kennedale yard after dark.

05

Commercial grounds

Office parks, retail centers, medical buildings and churches in Kennedale get monument signs, entry drives and planted islands lit for safety and a clear first impression.

03

Lighting for peace of mind

Gates, side yards, garage corners and the back fence line get steady light from dusk on, so there are fewer dark spots and cameras see more.

06

A plan before any digging

You see the layout first: what gets lit, which fixture does it, where the cable runs and where the transformer mounts. Nothing is placed by guesswork.

Built for North Texas Conditions

North Texas is hard on outdoor gear. Summer heat, spring hail, heavy storms and expanding clay soil all work against fixtures and wiring.

We set fixtures on sturdy stakes or mounts, leave slack in cable runs so shifting soil does not pull connections apart, and use sealed connectors rated for wet ground. Fixtures are placed with room for trees and shrubs to grow, so the Kennedale design still works a few seasons from now instead of disappearing behind new growth.

How a Kennedale Project Runs

01

Start the conversation

Tell us about the property, the look you want and any HOA or commercial requirements we need to meet.

02

Design the scene

We pick focal points like a tree, entry or wall, then layer path, accent and security light around them.

03

Plan the layout

You get a plan showing fixture types and locations, cable routes and transformer placement, with each cost factor explained.

04

Installation day

Fixtures go in, cable is buried shallow and connections are sealed. Many home installs wrap up in a day or two.

05

Night check

After sunset we adjust angles, balance brightness from the street and confirm every zone turns on as scheduled.

Kennedale, Lot by Lot

Kennedale is a small city south of Arlington with a mix of established homes, newer streets and properties on bigger lots. Many yards have open space and a few large trees rather than dense landscaping, so a small number of well-aimed fixtures can transform how a property looks after dark.

Kennedale Parkway businesses

Shops and service businesses along Kennedale Parkway are seen from passing traffic. A lit sign, uplit entry trees and clean walkway lighting help the property stand out and make the lot feel safer for evening customers. Shielded fixtures keep that light on the property and away from passing drivers.

Larger residential lots

Properties with deeper setbacks need light that guides guests from the street to the door. Path lights at the drive, a lit entry and one or two uplit trees go a long way. On wider lots we often add a lit address marker or mailbox column near the street as well.

US 287 corridor

Commercial properties near US 287 benefit from dependable sign and entry lighting on a photocell and timer, so the lights come on at dusk every night and shut off when you choose. Durable fixtures and sealed connections hold up to wind and dust from heavy traffic nearby, with fewer service calls.

Near Village Creek

Homes near the Village Creek area often have more trees and darker back yards. Moonlighting and patio lighting make those spaces usable at night while keeping them natural. Fixtures near the creek side are chosen with damp ground in mind, and cable is routed above low spots where water collects after heavy rain.

Make the Back Yard Usable After Dark

Most of the light people enjoy is behind the house. We light patios, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, pool decks and fire pits so evenings outside in Kennedale do not end at sunset.

Downlights from eaves and pergola beams give even light for cooking and dining. Step and hardscape lights keep edges safe. A few uplit trees at the fence line give the yard depth, so the space feels larger than it does in daylight. Bistro string lighting can tie in too.

What Shapes the Cost

Your proposal is built from these factors, explained line by line.

How much you light

A focused front-yard plan uses far fewer fixtures than a full-property design. We can start with the front and add the back yard later on the same system.

Commercial requirements

Larger sites need tougher fixtures, longer runs and crews scheduled around customers, tenants or residents. Certificates of insurance are part of the package for property managers and boards.

Power and cable runs

The distance from your outlet to each fixture group matters. Far fence lines, gazebos and detached features need longer cable runs or a second transformer.

Fixture material

Brass and copper fixtures cost more up front than aluminum but hold up better to sprinklers, mowers and Texas weather over many seasons of nightly use.

Site conditions

Rock, thick roots, dense beds and finished hardscape all affect install time. We note them on the site visit so the proposal reflects the real work.

Questions About Landscape Lighting in Kennedale

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Why can't you quote landscape lighting over the phone?

–

Because the property sets the price. Tree size, lot depth, hardscape, outlet locations and how much you want lit all change the fixture count and labor. A short site visit lets us give you an accurate written proposal, with options to start smaller and add more later.

Do you serve Kennedale even though it is a smaller city?

–

Yes. Kennedale is part of our Dallas-Fort Worth service area for landscape lighting, both residential and commercial. We schedule a site visit, design for the specific property and return for service when it is needed, the same as anywhere else in the Metroplex.

Is landscape lighting a shock hazard?

–

Low-voltage systems are designed to minimize that risk. The transformer converts household current to roughly 12 volts, the cable is shallow and sealed connectors keep moisture out. It is a much safer choice for yards with children, pets, sprinklers and frequent gardening than line-voltage outdoor wiring.

Is LED light too cold or blue for a house?

–

Not with the right lamps. Landscape LEDs come in warm white, around 2700K, which looks like traditional halogen light. They use far less power, run cool and last many times longer, so you get the classic look without frequent bulb changes.

Is it expensive to run landscape lights every night?

–

No. LED fixtures use only a few watts each, so even a large system costs little to run from dusk until late evening. Timers and app schedules let you shut accent lights off at a set hour to use even less.

What is a good first project for a Kennedale home?

–

Start with the front: light the walk and drive for safety, wash the entry and uplight one or two of the strongest trees. That covers curb appeal and security with a modest fixture count, and the system can grow into the back yard later.

Does landscape lighting help with security?

–

It helps. Lighting gates, side yards, entries and dark beds removes hiding spots and makes a property look occupied. Even light also helps security cameras capture clear images. It is not a replacement for locks or alarms, but it is a quiet, attractive layer of protection.

Are you insured?

–

Yes. We carry liability insurance and workers' compensation and can send certificates of insurance to homeowners, property managers and HOA boards. Our parent company, Carruthers Landscape Management, is a Dallas family business founded in 1978 that has managed commercial landscapes across Dallas-Fort Worth ever since.

How many fixtures does a front yard need?

–

It depends on the size of the house, the number of trees and how much you want lit. A modest front yard might need a dozen or fewer fixtures; a large lot with mature trees and a long walk needs more. We design to the property rather than a set count.
