Where the Light Goes

Every system is low-voltage LED, sold and installed under NTD (Nite Time Decor), our landscape lighting line.

01

Trunks, limbs and canopy

Narrow spots trace a tall trunk while wider beams fill the canopy above it. Crape myrtles, live oaks and cedar elms each get a different beam and angle.

04

Hardscape and walls

Slim fixtures tucked under wall caps, seat walls and step treads light stone without showing the source. They suit retaining walls and terraced beds common on sloped lots.

02

Downlight and moonlight

Fixtures set up in the branches throw light down through the leaves, leaving soft shadow patterns on grass and walkways. It lights a wide area with very few fixtures.

05

Patio and pergola light

Small downlights on beams, step lights on stairs and accents on planters turn a dark patio into a room you actually use after sunset in Keller.

03

Grazing stone and brick

Fixtures set close to the wall and aimed upward rake light across texture, so stone, brick and stucco on a Keller home show depth at night.

06

Service calls

When a fixture goes dark, gets knocked over or ends up behind a growing shrub, call us. We repair, re-aim and adjust systems we installed.

Timers, Photocells and App Control

A system is only useful if it turns on by itself. Transformers can run on a photocell that senses dusk, a timer that shuts lights off late at night, or both together.

App-based controls add zones and schedules you can change from your phone, such as path lights all night and tree lights until midnight. We set the schedule before the crew leaves your Keller property and show you how to adjust it when seasons and daylight change.

  • Photocell turns lights on at dusk

  • Timer turns them off when you choose

  • Separate zones for front, back and trees

  • Schedules adjusted as daylight changes

Design, Install, Adjust

01

Start the conversation

Tell us about the property, the look you want and any HOA or commercial requirements we need to meet.

02

Walk the grounds

A designer walks the yard, notes trees, beds, hardscape and power, and asks how you use the space after dark.

03

Size the system

Fixture count and wattage set the transformer size and cable layout, with headroom left so future additions plug into the same system.

04

Installation day

Fixtures go in, cable is buried shallow and connections are sealed. Many home installs wrap up in a day or two.

05

Aim after dark

We return at night to fine-tune aim and brightness, set the timer or app schedule and walk you through it.

Keller Homes, Trees and Town Center

Keller is known for larger lots, mature native trees and homes with a lot of stone and brick. Those are ideal ingredients for landscape lighting. A thoughtful plan lights the strongest trees and architectural details and keeps the rest of the yard soft and natural.

Post oaks and large lots

Many Keller properties keep native post oaks and big shade trees. Uplighting the trunks and moonlighting from the canopy shows them off, and placing fixtures with room for root flare protects the trees long term. We also check for low branches and drip lines before choosing where each stake goes.

Keller Town Center

Offices and retail around Keller Town Center and Keller Parkway benefit from consistent light on signs, building faces and planted islands, scheduled to match business hours and run without staff attention. Offices there can also light walkways from parking to the front door for staff leaving after dark.

Old Town Keller

Shops and restaurants in Old Town Keller rely on evening visitors. Lit signs, entry plantings and soft path light make storefronts inviting and help people move between parking and the door. Warm white light keeps the historic feel of the district intact and avoids the look of a parking-lot fixture.

Stone facades and entries

Stone and brick elevations are common in Keller. Grazing light across textured stone and a balanced wash on the entry give the home a crisp, inviting look from the street. Stone ledges and window sills can catch shadows, so we test angles after dark and adjust until the face looks even.

HOA Entrances and Common Areas

Community entrances, amenity centers and greenbelt paths are the first thing residents and visitors see. We light stone monuments, entry walls, median trees and walking trails with fixtures sized for public spaces.

Boards get one plan, a clear proposal built on cost factors and an insured crew that works around residents. We can also help individual homeowners in Keller meet the lighting guidelines in their HOA's design rules, so a home system is approved without back-and-forth.

Where the Budget Goes

No two yards cost the same; these choices make the biggest difference.

Number of fixtures

Fixture count is the biggest single driver. Lighting the front walk and two trees is a small project; wrapping the whole lot with path, accent and patio light is several times larger.

Trenching and hardscape

Running cable under mulch beds is quick. Crossing driveways, boring under walks or fitting fixtures into stone walls takes more labor, tools and planning on install day.

Mounting in trees

Downlights placed high in a canopy need careful mounting that protects the tree. Tree height and the number of mounting points both affect labor and time on site.

How you switch it on

Automatic dusk-on and timed shutoff come standard on most designs. Adding phone control and more zones adds hardware, wiring and setup time to the project, so we only include what you will use.

Metal and finish

Fixtures near sprinklers, lawn edges and drives take the most abuse. Choosing heavier metals there and lighter ones in protected beds balances cost and durability.

Keller Landscape Lighting FAQ

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Can you light large oak trees?

–

Yes. Big oaks can be uplit from the ground to show the trunk and canopy, moonlit from fixtures mounted high in the branches, or both. Moonlighting casts soft shadow patterns across the lawn and is one of the most natural effects in landscape lighting.

Will fixtures harm the roots of my Keller oaks?

–

Not when placed carefully. We keep stakes clear of the root flare, route cable shallow and around major roots rather than through them, and use tree-friendly mounting for any downlights in the canopy. Protecting the trees is part of the design, since they are the reason to light the yard.

Will installation tear up my lawn and beds?

–

No. Low-voltage cable only needs a shallow slit in turf or a run under mulch, not a wide trench. The crew works around irrigation heads and roots, closes the slits as it goes and leaves beds the way it found them. Within a few days the cable lines are hard to spot.

What is the difference between brass and aluminum fixtures?

–

Brass and copper are heavier, resist corrosion and develop a natural dark finish that blends into beds. Aluminum is lighter, less costly and works well in protected areas. Many designs mix them, using brass where sprinklers and mowers are a factor.

Will my HOA allow landscape lighting?

–

Most HOAs allow it, though some ask for approval first or have rules about brightness and glare. We keep beams aimed onto your property, avoid light toward neighbors and can give you a fixture list and layout to include with an approval request.

Can you light an HOA entrance in Keller?

–

Yes. We light HOA entry monuments, stone walls, median trees and amenity areas, with fixtures sized for public spaces and an insured crew that works around residents. Boards receive a written proposal with cost factors and certificates of insurance on request. Phased lighting across several entrances is also an option.

Do you service the system after installation?

–

Yes. We provide service calls on systems we install: re-aiming fixtures as trees and shrubs fill in, cleaning lenses, replacing failed parts and updating timers or app schedules. Call the office at 972-620-9560 during business hours to set one up.

What color of light looks right on a house?

–

Warm white, around 2700K, suits most homes. It flatters brick, stone, stucco and foliage and feels like a porch light. Cooler whites can make a house look stark, so we use them only where they help, such as on silver-green plants or water features.

What is the timeline from first call to lights on?

–

First comes a site visit, then a written proposal. Once you approve it, we schedule installation; many homes are finished in a day or two. The final step is an evening visit to set aim and brightness and to confirm the schedule.
