KELLER, TEXAS
Bistro & String Light Installation in Keller, TX
Keller backyards are made for evenings outside. We design and install bistro lighting over pergolas, pool decks and outdoor kitchens, plus dining patios in Old Town and around Keller Town Center.
✓ Insured install crews ✓ Steel catenary spans ✓ Shatter-resistant bulbs

QUICK ANSWER
Bistro lights are heavy outdoor strands with large LED bulbs hung overhead to light a patio or yard. For Keller homes and restaurants, Christmas Decor by Carruthers Decorative Lighting measures the space, sets anchors or posts, runs catenary wire on longer spans and installs dimmable commercial-grade strands that can stay up year-round.

Outdoor Spaces We Wire in Keller
Pick the area you want lit and we plan the hardware, the hang points and the power around it.
01
Open patio canopies
Strands cross overhead in a zig-zag or parallel lines so the whole seating area glows evenly. We set the spacing so light lands on the table, not just the fence.
04
Rooftop bars and terraces
Rooftops have few anchor points and more wind. We use weighted planter poles or parapet mounts and tensioned catenary wire so strands stay put on breezy nights.
02
Backyard zig-zag canopies
Wide yards with no roof overhead get a canopy strung from house to poles and back. It turns an empty lawn into a usable outdoor room after sunset.
05
Outdoor kitchens and bars
Task-friendly strands over a grill island or bar top let you see what you are cooking while the rest of the space stays soft and relaxed.
03
Pool deck perimeters
Lights trace the deck edge or span the water at a safe height, with every connection kept off the coping. Swimmers get soft light and you avoid tangles near water.
06
Heavy-duty cable runs
Commercial strands use thicker jacketed cable and molded sockets built for outdoor exposure. They resist UV, summer heat and the twisting in the wind that ruins light-duty sets.

Three Layouts That Work in Most Keller Spaces
Most patios and yards fit one of three layouts. A perimeter run traces the edges and suits long, narrow spaces. A zig-zag canopy crosses back and forth overhead for full, even light over a seating area. A center canopy radiates from a single tall pole to the edges, which suits round spaces and fire pit circles.
We sketch the layout on a photo of your space so you can see it before install day.

What Happens After You Call
01
Start with a call
One call to our office covers it. We learn how you use the space and book a walk-through, ideally near dusk.
02
Measure and plan
On site we measure every span, test anchor surfaces and locate outlets, so the plan reflects your real space.
03
Design and quote
You get a layout sketch with spans, poles, bulb type and controls, plus a quote built from those exact measurements.
04
Install day
Our insured crew sets posts, tensions guide wire, hangs strands and routes power, then tests every socket before leaving.
05
Walkthrough and service
We show you the controls, set the timer and leave our number. Bulb swaps and adjustments are a call away.
Patios Across Keller
Keller mixes large-lot neighborhoods with a walkable Old Town along US 377 and the restaurants of Keller Town Center. Each setting calls for a different layout.
Old Town Keller
Restaurants and shops along Main Street in Old Town Keller often have courtyard or side patios. A wall-to-post canopy turns these into evening seating, and tidy wiring keeps the historic storefronts looking clean. Owners can run strands on a timer from evening opening until close, which takes one more task off a busy staff list.
Large-lot neighborhoods
Many Keller homes sit on generous lots with pools, pergolas and outdoor kitchens. We often combine a pergola beam run with a canopy over the pool deck, each on its own dimmer. Pool decks get shatter-resistant bulbs at a safe height. Outdoor kitchens get brighter task light over the grill, while the lounge side stays relaxed.
Keller Town Center
Dining patios around Keller Town Center see steady weekend crowds. Commercial strands with even spacing light every table, and service-friendly layouts mean a bulb change never waits for a ladder crew during dinner. We also plan runs to avoid conflicting with awnings, umbrellas and signage, so the patio reads clean from the parking lot and the street.
Near Bear Creek Park
Homes near Bear Creek Park often have mature trees along the back fence. Guide wire from the eave to a strapped tree builds a canopy that feels natural and leaves the trunk untouched. Straps loosen as the trunk grows, and we check that the span clears the canopy so branches never rub on the cable during windy weather.
From Summer Patio to Holiday Display
Bistro lighting does not have to sit idle in December. Our main business is holiday lighting, so the same crew that hangs your patio strands can plan holiday décor for commercial patios and the spaces around them.
For businesses, that might mean wreaths and garland on the patio rail, a lit tree by the entry or warm white wraps on nearby trees. One crew, one plan and one call to our Dallas office covers string lights now and holiday décor later.

Cost Factors for String Lighting
We quote from measurements, not a flat rate. Here is what we measure.
Bulb type and count
Bulb shape, shatter resistance and socket spacing all affect cost. Tighter spacing gives fuller, brighter light overhead but uses more bulbs and more cable on every run.
Number of spans
Each span needs two solid anchor points and often guide wire. A zig-zag canopy with many crossings takes more hardware than a single perimeter run.
Site conditions
Slopes, tree canopies, pool decks and tight side yards can each add steps. We note them on the site visit so the quote has no surprises.
Power and controls
Using an existing outdoor outlet is the simplest setup. Adding dimmers, timers, smart plugs or a new circuit from a licensed electrician changes the scope of the job.
Total run length
More linear feet of strand means more bulbs, more cable and more labor. A small patio and a full venue lawn sit at very different ends of the range.

Keller String Light Questions
Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.
Are you insured?
–
Yes. Christmas Decor by Carruthers Decorative Lighting carries liability insurance and workers' compensation. We can provide certificates of insurance to homeowners, property managers and landlords before work begins, which many commercial sites require before any crew sets foot on the property.
What happens if a bulb breaks?
–
Very little. The rest of the run stays on because each socket is wired independently, and most of our bulbs are shatter-resistant to begin with. On low spans you can swap a bulb yourself. On tall or commercial spans in Keller, our crew can handle it on a service call.
How long do commercial-grade LED bulbs last?
–
LED bistro bulbs are rated for many thousands of hours, which covers years of evening use. They also use a fraction of the power of older bulbs and stay cool. Individual bulbs replace easily, so a single failure never means replacing the whole run.
Are string lights safe around a pool or hot tub?
–
Yes, with care. Strands over pool decks are hung at a safe height on guide wire, bulbs are shatter-resistant and every connection is kept well away from water. GFCI protection on the power source is a must, and we plan for it from the very first site visit.
Will you mount to brick, stone or stucco without damage?
–
Yes. We choose anchors for each surface. On brick we use mortar joints where possible, on stucco we seal every penetration, and on stone we size masonry anchors for the load. The goal is a secure hang point that leaves a small, tidy footprint.
Can the lights be dimmed or put on a timer?
–
Yes. Dimmable LED bulbs are standard on most of our installs, and controls are easy to add. Many Keller clients pair a dimmer with a dusk-to-late timer, so the patio glows on its own each evening and can be turned down for quieter dinners.
Can a business patio get holiday décor too?
–
Yes. Holiday lighting and décor is our main business. For Keller restaurants, venues and commercial properties, we can add wreaths, garland, lit trees and building lighting around the patio, with design, installation, in-season service and removal handled by one team.
How long does a typical backyard install take?
–
A typical backyard is a one-day job. Adding concrete-set posts, a large canopy or rooftop work can stretch it. You will know the plan, the crew size and the expected duration before install day, so you can plan guests, pets and parking around it.
Do you service lights another company installed?
–
Often, yes. We look at the existing setup, replace dead bulbs, add guide wire to sagging spans or rebuild a run with commercial-grade cable. If a Keller system was built with light-duty retail strands, we will say plainly whether repair or replacement is the smarter call.
