Inside an Addison Home Season

Whether it is an acre on Celestial Road or a tall townhome on Belt Line, the season runs the same way.

01

A plan for your facade

We draw the display around your real rooflines, balconies, entry and trees, so a narrow townhome and a wide custom estate each get a plan that fits.

04

Repairs on call

When a bulb or strand fails in December, a call to our office gets a crew out to fix it. Service visits come with the season.

02

Lighting we own, you lease

Commercial-grade LED strands are measured to your eaves and cut to length. You enjoy them for the season and never buy, box or store them.

05

Removal in January

Once the holidays pass, crews take down every strand and clip so the house is back to normal for the new year.

03

Tidy installation

Insured crews hang every run with clips, keep cords neat along compact front yards and test the full display before they go.

06

Kept for next year

Your lights are boxed, tagged with your address and held over until the following fall.

Four Square Miles, Three Kinds of Home

Addison covers about 4.36 square miles and grew fastest in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so most of its detached houses date from about 1980 to the late 1990s. Midway Meadows and Les Lacs are mostly one- and two-story brick traditionals on lots of roughly 5,000 to 15,000 square feet, Oaks North adds early-1980s custom homes near Celestial Park, and Bellbrook Estates along Celestial Road holds modern and custom houses on lots from half an acre to well over an acre.

The newest layer is attached housing. Townhomes at Addison Grove on Belt Line Road were approved in phases starting in 2016, and their tall, narrow fronts have balconies and stoops rather than wide eaves. On those homes we light the vertical lines, balcony rails and front door, while a big Bellbrook lot may get canopy lighting in the trees, a lit drive and a full roofline. For color ideas that suit modern and contemporary fronts, browse our notes on this season's lighting styles.

  • Brick traditionals outlined along the front eave

  • Townhome balconies and stoops framed with light

  • Modern estates lit with straight, minimal lines

  • Corner lots lit on both street faces

  • Front-bed shrubs netted for depth

Your Addison Install, Step by Step

01

Reach the office

Call 972-620-9560 or send your address online. Requests made in September and October have the most open dates.

02

Measure and talk

A designer walks the lot, measures eaves, balconies and trees and finds the outdoor outlets. Townhome owners should keep their HOA rules handy for this visit.

03

Approve the design

You get a plan and a quote based on those numbers, and your approval locks in an install date.

04

Lights go up

The crew installs, sets the timer and tests every strand. Most owners need not be home if outlets and gates are reachable.

05

Season, then storage

We handle repairs while the display is up, then remove and store it once the holidays wrap up.

Addison Neighborhoods We Light

Addison's single-family streets sit in a few pockets around the Tollway, Belt Line and Midway Road. Homes just across the line in north Dallas neighborhoods and Carrollton's residential streets are on the same routes.

Bellbrook Estates

Developed on about 23 acres bordered by Celestial Road and Winnwood Road, Bellbrook has custom and modern homes on lots from half an acre to well over an acre. Lots this size leave room for lit trees, drive lighting and a long roofline, so the display reads from far down the street.

Les Lacs

Homes built mainly in the 1980s and 1990s along the Les Lacs greenbelt and pond off Beltway Drive, on lots of about 5,000 to 8,000 square feet. With smaller yards, a clean eave line and a single lit tree usually do more than a crowded display.

Addison Grove

Townhomes and live/work units by InTown Homes along Belt Line Road, approved in phases from 2016. Narrow, tall fronts call for vertical accents, lit balcony rails and a framed door, planned around the association's rules.

Oaks North

Brick-and-siding custom homes from the early 1980s on courts such as Lochinvar, Maiden and Buckingham in 75254, close to Celestial and Winnwood parks. Corner lots and cul-de-sac fronts suit a full front outline with wrapped yard trees.

Midway Meadows

One- and two-story traditional and ranch homes built from about 1980 to 1997 near Dome Park, many with mature yard trees. Long single-story eaves light evenly, and those older trees are worth a trunk wrap.

Ponds, Parks and Townhome Rules

Plenty of Addison homes face green space. Les Lacs runs along a 10-acre greenbelt and pond on Beltway Drive between Marsh Lane and Midway Road, Oaks North sits beside Celestial Park within walking distance of Winnwood Park, and Midway Meadows wraps around the small Dome Park on Sherlock Drive. When the back of a house faces a park or pond, the neighbors see it too, so the design visit includes a look at the back of the house and any tree the park side can see. Owners who like that glow after the holidays can add year-round landscape lighting in Addison.

Townhome and attached communities usually have written rules about what may attach to shared walls, roofs and railings, and some set display windows. Send us your association's guidelines and we will design inside them. Some detached streets, including parts of Midway Meadows, have no HOA restrictions at all, which leaves the color and scale up to you.

  • Rear rooflines lit when a park or pond is behind you

  • Shared walls and roofs checked against HOA rules

  • Cords kept off narrow front walks

  • Trees by the water wrapped for reflections

  • Dates set to your association's calendar

Cost Drivers for an Addison Display

Addison lots run from compact to acre-plus, so measurements matter more than anything. Here is what moves the quote.

Lineal feet lit

A townhome front may need only a short run of lighting, while a Bellbrook estate can need hundreds of feet. Front-only versus all sides is the main choice.

Look and color

Warm white, cool white, multicolor or a two-tone plan each changes the lighting we bring, and some looks use more pieces than others.

Stories and roof shape

Three- and four-story townhome fronts and steep custom roofs call for taller ladders or lifts and more crew time than a one-story ranch.

Add-ons

Wreaths, garland on railings and doors, and pathway lights are listed separately so you can choose what is worth it.

Trees in the yard

Every tree and shrub you add brings more lighting and more hands-on time, and a mature shade tree by a pond needs far more than a sapling in a townhome bed.

Addison Homeowner Questions

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

Do you install Christmas lights on homes in Addison?

–

Yes. We light detached homes, estates and townhomes throughout Addison in ZIP codes 75001 and 75254. Our crews also decorate the restaurants and offices along Belt Line, which you can see on our Addison Christmas lighting page.

Why lease the lights instead of buying them?

–

Leasing means the lights are cut to your house, maintained during the season and stored by us afterward, which matters when an Addison garage or townhome has little spare room. If you would like lighting that stays mounted all year, ask about permanent lighting near Addison, a low-profile track system that stays on the house.

When should we book an Addison install?

–

Late summer through early October gives you the most open dates. Installs typically begin in early November, and townhome communities with a set display window should book early so we can meet their start date.

When will the lights come down?

–

Addison displays come down in the first weeks of January unless your association names its own deadline. Each piece is boxed and held for your next season.

Does my townhome or HOA need to approve the lights?

–

In an attached community, probably yes, especially for anything on shared roofs or railings. Send us the rules and we will fit the design to them. Our HOA holiday lighting service can also light the community entrance for the board.

Will clips harm my roof or gutters?

–

No. Lights attach with clips on gutters, shingle edges and railings, never with nails or staples driven into the roof. At takedown the clips come off along with the lights.

What about outlets and timers?

–

We use your existing outdoor outlets and confirm they work at the design visit. Timers are supplied, so the lights switch on and off each evening without you touching anything.

Can you light just my townhome when my neighbors don't decorate?

–

Yes. We can light one attached home on its own, framing your section of roofline, balcony and door so the display stops cleanly at your property line. Anything on shared walls or roofs needs your association's okay first.
