Car Dealership Christmas Lighting in McKinney, TX

US 75 is the dealer row in McKinney. Signed as Central Expressway, it carries franchised stores from the 3900 block on the south side of the city to the 2600 block on the north side. The run includes Buick GMC, Nissan, Volkswagen, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, Honda, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Kia, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Chevrolet, Mazda and BMW. Subaru and Audi stores are on State Highway 121.

For a general manager on either highway, Christmas Decor by Carruthers Decorative Lighting handles the holiday display from the first site walk to January storage. We supply leased, commercial-grade LED lighting cut to the building, install it, maintain it during the season and take it down.

A dealership display covers more than the roofline. We light the building outline and fascia, the entry canopy or portal, frontage and lot trees and light poles, and we decorate the showroom and customer lounge. Call 972-620-9560 to start with a site walk.

From South Central Expressway to Wilmeth Road: Lighting McKinney's US 75 Stores

The southern stretch is where a northbound driver first meets McKinney's dealers. Buick GMC, Nissan, Volkswagen and Toyota stores occupy the 3300 to 3900 blocks of South Central Expressway, and Mitsubishi, Ford, Honda and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram stores follow closer to the middle of the city. For these stores the display is built around the elevation that faces US 75: the roofline, the main fascia and the frontage.

Kia, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Chevrolet and Mazda stores are in the 1200 to 2300 blocks of North Central Expressway, and a BMW store opened in 2024 on the west side of US 75 just south of Wilmeth Road, on a site of about 14.5 acres. On a site that size the building may stand well back from the frontage road. When it does, light poles, lot trees and frontage trees carry the display out to the road, and the building outline finishes it.

State Highway 121 is the second corridor. The Subaru and Audi stores have SH 121 addresses on the frontage of the Sam Rayburn Tollway, which ends at US 75 in McKinney. Tollway traffic passes on the main lanes and customers arrive by the frontage road, so the design gives each of those views something to read.

Showroom decor is planned with the exterior. Pre-lit trees, wreaths, garland, bows and oversized ornaments go into the showroom and lounge in sizes that suit the room and leave the floor open for vehicles.

Brand rules and daily operations come before the design map. Manufacturer image programs govern what can be attached to the building, and that is reviewed during the site walk. Lighting is kept clear of signage, brand elements, cameras and vehicle paths. Installation is scheduled for early mornings or slower weekdays, and service lanes stay open.

Year-end sales events are part of the plan. A store that wants to change colors for an event can choose app-controlled Twinkly Pro lighting. Maintenance is included for the whole season and is usually completed within 24 to 48 hours of a call. Removal begins in early January, and storage is climate-controlled.

McKinney Dealership Holiday Lighting FAQs

Do you serve dealerships at both ends of US 75 in McKinney?

Yes. We serve car dealerships along the full length of Central Expressway in McKinney, from the stores on the south side of the city to those near Wilmeth Road, as well as stores on State Highway 121. Every project starts with a site walk at the store.

Our building sits well back from the frontage road. Will the lighting still be seen from US 75?

It can be, if the display starts at the road. On a deep lot we use frontage trees, lot trees and pole-mounted decor on the light poles to bring the display forward, then outline the roofline and fascia behind it. The design map shows the whole depth of the site, not only the building.

Is there anything the dealership has to buy, store or insure?

No purchase and no storage. The lighting is leased, custom-cut to the building and kept in a climate-controlled facility after removal. We carry liability insurance and workers' compensation, and a certificate of insurance is available on request for your ownership group or landlord.

Can our McKinney store match the group's stores in Frisco or Plano?

Yes. We serve dealerships across Dallas-Fort Worth, so a group can have each store designed with a consistent look. Building shapes and manufacturer image programs differ, so each store still receives its own site walk, written proposal and design map.

What happens if part of the display goes dark in December?

Call 972-620-9560. In-season maintenance is included with the lease, and repairs are usually completed within 24 to 48 hours of the call. The store's staff does not need to troubleshoot the display or climb anything to fix it.
