Outdoor Rooms We Light in Carrollton

Each card is a space type we plan, hang and service.

01

Covered Patios

Under a solid patio cover, strands can follow the beams or trace the perimeter for a softer, layered look. Cords are routed neatly to the outlet so nothing hangs loose.

04

Breweries and Beer Gardens

Long communal tables and open lawns suit parallel runs or a wide canopy. Commercial-grade cable and secure terminations let the strands handle crowds, yard games and weekend events.

02

Apartment Amenity Decks

Pool decks, grilling stations and lounges at multifamily properties get commercial-grade runs that stay up year-round and look finished in tours and photos. Service is scheduled around residents.

05

HOA Amenity Centers

Clubhouse patios, community pools and pavilions get lighting that matches the neighborhood's standards. Access, timing and design are coordinated with the board or management company.

03

Hotel and Venue Terraces

Terraces that host receptions and happy hours need lighting that photographs well and holds up to frequent use. Runs are laid out so tables, bars and stages can move underneath.

06

Balconies and Side Yards

Even a narrow balcony or side yard can carry a short run or two. We size the strand, bulb spacing and anchors to the space so it looks intentional rather than crowded.

Courtyards and Amenity Spaces

Apartment courtyards, office plazas and shared amenity decks are used every night by people who never think about the lights. That calls for commercial-grade runs, clean hardware, protected connections and timers so nobody has to remember to flip the switch at dusk.

For Carrollton multifamily and commercial properties, we work through the property manager, schedule work around residents and tenants, and keep a service line open for bulb swaps and adjustments.

  • Commercial-grade runs for nightly use

  • Timers so lights run on schedule

  • Work coordinated through property managers

  • Service calls for bulbs and adjustments

How a Carrollton Install Works

01

Call the Office

Reach our Dallas office at 972-620-9560, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, and tell us about the space in Carrollton you want lit.

02

Visit at Dusk

When it helps, we look at the space near sunset to see existing light, sight lines and where shadows fall across the seating.

03

Pick Bulbs and Pattern

Choose a perimeter, zig-zag or canopy layout and an S14, ST38 or G40 bulb. We explain how each option will look in your space.

04

Hang and Tension

Strands are clipped to the support wire at even intervals, leveled and trimmed of slack so every line looks clean from the seating area.

05

Seasonal Check-Ins

Ask about a check before the spring and fall entertaining seasons to swap bulbs, re-tension spans and inspect every connection.

Carrollton Areas We Light

Carrollton sits just north of our Goodnight Lane office, so site visits are quick to set up. The city mixes a historic square, busy restaurant corridors and established neighborhoods full of pools and covered patios.

Downtown Carrollton

The historic square near the DART station has restaurants and patios close to the street. Wall anchors on older buildings and short, tight runs over the seating suit these compact spaces and keep sidewalks clear. Timers switch the patio on at dusk so staff can focus on service instead of switches.

Josey Lane and Belt Line

Strip centers along Josey Lane and Belt Line Road often have small patios beside parking. A pole-supported canopy defines the space and adds a finished look without major construction or a wall on every side. Poles can be painted to match the storefronts so the setup looks planned, not added on.

Apartment Communities

Newer apartment and townhome communities near Carrollton's transit stations use courtyards and pool decks as selling points. Commercial-grade runs that stay up year-round keep those amenities looking finished every night. Service calls are scheduled through the property manager to keep residents informed.

Old Denton Road Corridor

Restaurants, bakeries and cafés along Old Denton Road and Trinity Mills serve a busy evening crowd. String lights over patios help them stand out and give diners a reason to stay outside a little longer. Zig-zag canopies give those patios an even ceiling of light over every table.

Indian Creek Neighborhoods

Established neighborhoods around Indian Creek have mature trees and roomy backyards. Spans can run from the house to trees or posts, giving a lawn or pool deck the feel of an outdoor room. Shatter-resistant bulbs suit backyards where pools and play areas share the space.

Support Wire Keeps Every Run Tight

Light strands are not built to carry their own weight across a long span. Left alone, they sag, stretch and swing in the wind. We run a steel catenary wire between anchors, tension it, and clip the strand to it at short intervals.

The wire carries the load and the strand just carries power. It is the biggest difference between a professional install and a weekend project, and it keeps Carrollton patios looking crisp season after season.

  • Wire carries the load, not the cord

  • Tensioned to limit sag and sway

  • Clipped at short, even intervals

  • Turnbuckles allow re-tensioning later

Cost Factors for Carrollton Projects

Every quote comes from a site visit, and these items drive it.

Anchor Points

Walls, beams and sturdy trees are ready-made anchors. Where they are missing, poles, footings or weighted planters add material and labor, so the number of anchors needed shapes the project.

Tree Anchors

Trees can save the cost of poles, but large trees may need tree-safe straps, higher reach and occasional adjustment as trunks and limbs keep growing.

Bulb Style

S14, ST38 and G40 bulbs differ in cost, and shatter-resistant or filament-style LEDs vary too. Closer bulb spacing also means more bulbs on every foot of strand.

Ongoing Service

Seasonal checks, bulb replacement and re-tensioning keep a system looking new for years. It is worth talking through service expectations and response times before the install begins.

Power Access

If outlets sit close by on the right circuits, setup is simple. A new outlet or hard-wired circuit adds licensed electrician work to the overall project.

Before You Book: Common Questions

Have a question we didn’t cover? Call 972-620-9560 or request a free quote online.

How quickly can you visit a Carrollton property?

–

Carrollton is close to our office at 11593 Goodnight Lane in Dallas, so site visits are easy to schedule during office hours, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Call 972-620-9560 with the address and a short description of the space, and we will set a time that works.

Do you light pergolas, gazebos and covered patios?

–

Yes, and they are some of the easiest spaces to light well. Strands can follow beams, cross the top in a lattice or trace the perimeter of a solid cover. We use clips sized for the framing and route cords inside the structure for a clean finish.

Can you install string lights on a rooftop deck or bar?

–

Yes. Rooftops need extra planning for wind, scarce anchor points and roof protection. We use weighted or fixed pole bases, tension every span and coordinate access, elevator use and roof protection with building management. Certificates of insurance are provided before work begins.

Will attaching lights hurt my trees?

–

Not when it is done right. We use tree-safe straps that spread the load around the trunk instead of nails, screws or wire wrapped tight. Straps are sized so they can be loosened as the tree grows, and we check them during service visits.

Do you work with HOAs and pergola builders?

–

Yes. We can provide a layout drawing and hardware details for an HOA review, and we coordinate with builders so anchors and power are planned while a pergola or patio cover goes up. Planning early usually means cleaner wiring and fewer visible fasteners.

What's the difference between bistro, café and string lights?

–

Mostly the name. Bistro and café lights usually mean larger bulbs, such as S14, ST38 or G40, on heavier cable with sockets spaced evenly along the strand. String lights is the broad term that also covers small mini lights. Edison refers to a vintage bulb shape with a filament look, now made in LED.

How long do LED bistro bulbs last?

–

LED bistro bulbs last many times longer than old incandescent bulbs and run much cooler, which makes them the right choice for permanent installs. Actual life depends on hours of use, heat and weather exposure. When one does fail, it unscrews and swaps out without taking the strand down.

What happens if a bulb breaks?

–

A broken or dark bulb simply unscrews from its socket and a matching bulb goes in its place. Shatter-resistant LED bulbs make breaks rare, even near pools and busy tables. For systems we install, call the office and we can schedule a service visit to replace bulbs or check the strand.

Do I need a new outdoor outlet?

–

Often not. Many patios already have a GFCI-protected outdoor outlet close enough to power the system. If the nearest outlet is far away, overloaded or not protected, a licensed electrician should add one or install a hard-wired circuit. We plan the layout around wherever power ends up.
